APPSC scam: TDP demands immediate resignation of Gowtam Sawang

0

TDP spokesman, Kommareddy Pattabhiram, on Monday blasted the Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) for deluding the public and demanded his immediate resignation as he has no right to continue in the post even for a single day.

“It is really shameful that Gowtam Sawang is simply bluffing that the evaluation of answer-sheets of Group-1 mains was done only once when there is clear evidence that it is conducted three times,” Pattabhiram told media persons here. Pointing out that the High Court has ordered for the cancellation of the Group-1 mains after getting all the evidence that the evaluation of answer-sheets was conducted three time in the most irregular manner, Pattabi said that even the Governor was shocked on witnessing the evidence produced by the TDP leaders in this scandal.

“I am ready to come for an open debate in the presence of the media with all the evidence available with me and are you ready for the debate,” Pattabhi dared Sawang. Since Sawang has no right to continue in the post even for a single day more, he should immediately tender his resignation from the post, Pattabhi said.

With all these developments Sawang has lost credibility, the TDP spokesman said and asked how the candidates can trust that the ongoing exams of the APPSC will be conducted in a transparent way. The youth strongly believes that Sawang lost his credibility and wants him to resign to the post immediately, he said.

Making it clear that a CBI investigation will be ordered into the entire Group-1 scam once the TDP is back in power, Pattabhiram said that the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government which has resorted to various kinds of scams in the past five years has marketed even the Group-1 posts too. “I have information that there is a Rs 150 cr to Rs 200 cr scam in Group-1 exams,” he added.

While ordering for the cancellation of the mains, the court also directed the APPSC to complete the whole process within six months, including conducting the mains exam, Pattabhi said.

“The action of Respondent Nos 1 & 2 in conducting second and third valuation of Group-I (Mains) Examination for Notification No.27/2018 is declared as illegal, irregular, arbitrary and violative of Rule 3(ix) of the A.P.P.S.C Rules” the court has said.

TDP supremo, Chandrababu Naidu, has made a power-point presentation with all the details on how the scam has taken place in the Group-1 mains in the APPSC, Pattabhi said and stated that Sawang, despite committing the blunder, is shamelessly denying the whole matter. The APPSC Chairman says that clarification on the allegations will be given at the right time, Pattabhi said and asked when will the right time come. “Is it after your retirement or after the Governor dismisses you,” Pattabhia asked Sawang.

What kind of clarification he will give when the future of lakhs of youth is thrown into oblivion, he said and regretted that the parents have spent lakhs of rupees for the coaching of their kinds for the Group-1 exams but the jobs were sold for a premium. Observing that after the digital evaluation of the answer-sheets there is a clear evidence that APPSC secretary, Seetha Ramanjaneyulu, has ordered for another evaluation, Pattabhiram pointed out several letters written by Seetha Ramanjaneyulu to Datatech Methodix, to the district Superintendent of Police of Guntur seeking security to shift the bundles and on other matters.

Making it clear that the TDP will continue its fight on this issue till, Pattabhiram said that unless the culprits are punished severely people, particularly the youth, will not have faith in the administration. Soon after the NDA forming the coming government, stringent action will be taken against those involved in this scam, Pattabhiram added.

HC order on APPSC is a slap on Jagan’s face, says Lokesh

0

TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Wednesday came down heavily on Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, for ‘vandalising’ the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) and said that Jagan has turned the APPSC into YCPSP.

Lokesh, in a release here felt that the High Court order cancelling the Group-1 mains of 2018 is a slap on the face of Jagan. The YSRCP gang has changed 49,000 answer-sheets sabotaging the aspirants of Group-1, he added.

Welcoming the High Court order on Group-1 mains, Lokesh said that Jagan has cheated the youth by not fulfilling the promise that he had made to them that the job calendar would be released on January 1 every year with all the details on vacancies. The evaluation of the answer-sheets was done in the most irresponsible way thus seriously hampering the future of the youth, he stated.

Recalling that notification to fill 169 Group-1 posts was released in 2018 and the exam was conducted in a transparent way, Lokesh said that the YSRCP that came to power later has resorted to various irregularities in the evaluation of the answer-sheets of the mains exam. Several relatives of the senior YSRCP leaders, who do not have even basic qualifications, are holding key positions in the APPSC thus transforming it into YCPSP, he remarked.

The YSRCP totally manipulated the prelims and the mains exams of Group-1 who were, in fact, got selected when the exams were conducted during the TDP regime and the posts were allotted to the henchmen of the YSRCP leaders though they were not qualified, Lokesh observed. He asked as to why the YSRCP Government is silent on the charges being levelled against the ruling dispensation.

Lokesh, in the press note promised to fill all the vacancies in various Government wings in the most transparent way and all the vacancies will be filled rigidly following the High Court order. He asked the Group-1 aspirants not to get disappointed as the coming TDP-Jana Sena-BJP government will take all measures to fill the vacancies.

No prelims for recruitment to any posts except Group 1: Andhra

0

The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) on Friday announced that there will be no preliminary examinations for all its recruitments, save for Group 1 selections.

APPSC member S. Salam Babu also announced the application of 10 per cent Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) reservation.

He said that the APPSC has completed appointments for 30 of the 32 notifications it has issued until now, but Group 1 and polytechnic college lecturers’ appointments are currently stuck in the courts.

“With the changes we brought in the written exams and interviews, we will ensure that there will be no objections or errors in the appointments. The state government is completely cooperating with the APPSC in this regard,” Babu said.

Several unemployed youth and unions have made many representations in the past two years for cancelling the preliminary stage of examinations.

Unlike the earlier practice of taking up to 18 months to complete an examination, Babu said that the APPSC will now conduct the exams within three months of notification, follow it up with interviews, and the results in quick succession.

According to Babu, APPSC will issue a notification for filling 1,180 posts in August, which will include the recruitment of forest beat officers, assistant beat officers, assistant engineers and several others.

AP Govt scraps interviews for all APPSC exams including Group 1

0

The Andhra Pradesh government on Saturday took a major decision to abolish conducting interviews for all recruitment exams including Group 1 to be conducted by AP P Public Service Commission (APPSC).

Candidates will be selected for government jobs based on performance in written exams only.

Following the directions of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the secretary of AP General Administration Department (GAD) Shashibhushan Kumar issued orders to this effect on Saturday.

The decision to scrap interviews was taken following complaints and allegations of interview boards favoring certain candidates in final selection by awarding more marks though they secured less marks in written exams.

Jagan said scrapping of interviews will ensure transparency in selection process and check irregularities in the recruitment process.

These orders came into force with immediate effect.
