Aravindha Sametha Veera Raghava has ended up it’s run worldwide with distributor close to 89 cr. The film is a profitable venture in 2 areas (Nizam, Guntur) in Telugu States. It also did well in Ceeded but ended up as a loss venture due to exorbitant price. It is a loss venture in remaining areas like UA, East, West & Nellore. Krishna area was released on advance basis. However the film couldn’t recover that advance. It is a very minor loss venture outside Telugu States. The film can be called as an above average venture considering a huge 89cr share & standing at Top Sixth Of All Time.

Aravinda Sametha Overseas Profit Loss Statement

Trivikram’s directional film Aravinda Sametha starring Jr Ntr, Pooja Hegde in lead roles was released on October 11th 2018. Produced by S. Radha Krishna, the film has collected a gross of $2,170,395 to become 10th highest grosser of All-Time in USA. It’s also the highest grosser for the hero Jr Ntr beating Nannaku Prematho which has collected a gross of $2,022,392.

Coming to Profit loss details, the film has collected a distributor share of $1,220,542 which comes down to $1,045,542 ie, 7.70 Crores INR after deducting the expenses like VPF & Publicity. From Non-USA markets it has fetched another 3.20 Crores INR, to make it a total distributor share of 10.90 Crores in Overseas. The film was sold for 11.70 Cr which means the distributor has ended up with a loss of 0.80 Crores. The distributor is able to get back his principal investment but failed to recover the expenses. The film has shown a peculiar trend of strong Day1(thursday) which generally means a strong weekend but the weekend trend was odd and quite below than the expected. It can be termed as an Above Average venture with a mere 7% loss for the distributor.

The success meet of NTR’s Aravinda Sametha was held in a grand style.

Nandamuri Balakrishna attended the event as chief guest. His speech at the event is a blend of politics and cinema in his inimitable style.

Speaking on stage, Balakrishna recollected the contribution of his brother Hari Krishna, who passed away recently, towards the Telugu Desam Party. He said Hari Krishna was very instrumental in the establishment of the party and also spoke about various services he offered as transport minister.

Talking about Aravinda Sametha, Balakrishna appreciated Trivikram for giving importance to women in his script. His superlatives to describe Pooja Hegde received huge applause from audience. Balakrishna appreciated each and every technician who worked for the film. He thanked audience for making the film a huge success. Surprisingly, he spoke very little about NTR. Balakrishna said he and NTR did larger than life films which cannot be matched by anyone else. He didn’t talk anything about Tarak’s performance in this film.

However, NTR and Balakrishna shared a very good rapport throughout the event. NTR thanked Balakrishna for gracing the event. They both spent a lot of time together on stage and hugged each other.

Nandamuri fans had to be divided into parts after the drift between Nandamuri Balakrishna and NTR Jr. Despite of several attempts made by NTR, the issue never got resolved as Balayya was not in a mood to patch up. However the demise of Nandamuri Harikrishna brought Balakrishna and NTR on to one platform. NTR’s recent outing Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava released recently and is running successfully all over.

The makers wanted to celebrate the success in the presence of the fans during which Tarak felt that Balakrishna attending the event as Chief Guest would bring extra mileage for the film and will cheer up Nandamuri fans. He asked Kalyanram to arrange a personal meeting and NTR met Balakrishna as per the planned time. NTR personally convinced Balakrishna and requested him to attend the event without fail.

Balayya was extremely convinced for Tarak approaching and requesting him. With nothing to avoid, he stepped out with a positive nod and this is how a meeting left Nandamuri fans in extreme delight. Balakrishna and Kalyanram are attending the success meet of Aravindha Sametha Veera Raghava as Chief Guests. Trivikram directed the film and Haarika and Hassine Creations produced this action thriller.

Aravinda Sametha has a good extended weekend worldwide as the film has collected a distributor share of over 65 Crores. This is the highest ever extended opening weekend(4 days) for the hero beating Jai Lava Kusa which had collected 52.80 Cr Share. The film has done well so far and it has to hold at-least decent levels from today till the end of Wednesday as Dasara festive holidays will start from Thursday.

Plagiarism allegations on Trivikram story

Director Trivikram landed once again in a controversy. Writer and Sahitya Akademi’s Yuva Puraskar winner Vempalli Gangadhar made serious allegations on Trivikram. He posted on social media platform that Trivikram has stolen several characters from his stories to prepare the story of “Aravinda Sametha”.

Sahitya Akademi award winner Vempalli Gangadhar’s allegations:

Vempalli Gangadhar is a renowned writer from Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh and his stories are mostly based on Rayalaseema background. He won prestigious Sahitya Akademi’s Yuva Puraskar winner and was felicitated by the Rashtrapathi Bhavan. He had been a guest of the President in Rashtrapathi Bhavan in 2014. Vempalli Gangadhar explained that he got a call from Trivikram in the month of April. Gangadhar went and met Trivikram. They both spent almost 3 days together and Gangadhar explained in very detail about all his stories and his experiences. He alleged Trivikram used several of those details he shared in the movie without giving credit or a penny. He lambasted Trivikram calling “He is an intelligent fool, who can pick one character from each of our stories and cook a new story out of them”.

This is not first time Trivikram facing plagiarism allegations:

Earlier, he didn’t give credits for ‘A…Aa’ to Yadhanapudi Sulochana Rani even though the movie was remake of her “Meena” movie. He had a serious row with director Jérôme Salle for coying story of ‘Largo Winch’ and making ‘Agnyathavaasi’. Salle tweeted before the release of the movie – “I think I’m gonna buy a ticket (plane first than movie) #Curiosity #Agnyaathavaasi #LargoWinch”. Later, after watching the film, he wrote, ‘Screening at #LeBrady tonight. Great atmosphere thanks to the audience. I could‘ve loved the movie but unfortunately the plot was too familiar. #LargoWinch #Agnyaathavaasi”

Finally:

Trivikram used to write ‘original’ stories in the beginning of his career. It is that originality that brought him fame and fan following. But now he is facing allegations for each and every movie. Getting similar allegations for 3 consecutive movies is not something to ignore. Earlier, director EVV Satya Narayana used to say, “We must give credit to writer even if writes one single dialogue for the film. This is the only way people can know he worked for the film.” Trivikram, he himself being a writer before becoming director he must be knowing how it feels when a writer doesn’t get credit for his work. There is nothing wrong in taking inputs from other writers. Giving credits to those who gave inputs will actually make audience given even more respect to the director.

Aravinda Sametha US premiers

Telugu film Aravinda Sametha, starring NTR and Pooja Hegde, has embarked on a terrific start at the US box office. The film open to packed crowds on Wednesday premiers in all locations.

As of this writing, the Trivikram Srinivas directional has collected close to $ 730K from its premiers, which is the career best opener for NTR. It is now placed 7th spot in the list of highest premier collections for Tollywood films. In 2018, Aravinda Sametha is the third biggest opener after Bharat Ane Nenu and Rangasthalam.

The film has been receiving good reports from US premiers and early shows in Telugu states. Trivikram’s writing and NTR’s subtle performance are said to be the selling points for this emotional action drama.

Jr NTR-Trivikram’s Aravindha Sametha is Gearing up for a humongous release in USA. The film is releasing in over 200 Locations according to the schedules sent by the distributor. This is the biggest release ever for the hero.

Overseas rights of the film are bought by VainavihanviCreations for 11.70 Cr excluding VPF costs. Rest of US rights are sold to different parties for Rs 3.20 Crs which means the distributor has to recover 8.50 Cr (after vpf) from USA to breakeven. Now Let’s calculate the breakeven gross for the film in USA.

Amount to Recover From USA : 1.11 Million (8.50 Cr)
Expenses: 0.15 Million (1.10 Cr)

Total: 1.26 Million

As the distributor can get a share of little over 55% of the collected Gross the film has to do 2.30 Million Dollars for Break-even whereas Jr NTR’s biggest grosser till date in USA is Nannaku Prematho which had collected 2.023 Million Dollars.

An eye on ‘Aravindha’ Bunny holds on Vikram

Post the debacle of ‘Naa Peru Surya Naa Illu India’ stylish star Allu Arjun is yet to announce a film. As reported in media, Allu Arjun is in talks with director Vikram K Kumar. Sometime back Bunny is said to have locked the script as well suggesting few changes.

With ‘Hello’ Vikram is also looking to bounce back strongly and accordingly is working on the script and changes recommended by Bunny. But somehow the changes are not getting shaped up quite well as expected. As time is running short, Allu Arjun is also heard to be looking at Trivikram Srinivas.

It all depends on ‘Aravindha Sametha’ box office result and if gets a thumbs up, Allu Arjun might go ahead with him and if not, Vikram is at the bay.

The stylish hero is desperately wants a commercial success and opined that Vikram’s script is too classy. Making appropriate moves, Allu Arjun is wait and watch mode.
