Exclusive: Ram and Gautham Menon to Team Up?

Energetic Star Ram is lining up an interesting set of films. The actor has been keen to cement his position in Kollywood and worked with Lingusamy for The Warrior that will release next month. Ram has been keen to work with Gautham Vasudev Menon from sometime but the project did not materialize. Gautham Menon recently met Ram and narrated a romantic entertainer and the actor responded on a positive note. The project will roll during the second half of 2023 once the duo completes their current commitments.

Ram will soon kick-start the shoot of Boyapati Srinu’s actioner and he will complete it before summer. He will then kick-start Gautham Menon’s film which will be shot in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. Gautham Menon has been running low in his career and he is waiting for a strong comeback. Today Ram trashed the rumors about his wedding and clarified that he is not getting married this year.

Director Gautham Vasudev Menon on Suriya and Prayaga Rose Martin’s roles in ‘Navarasa’

For the upcoming anthology “Navarasa”, Gautham Vasudev Menon has directed the segment “Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru”, which showcases the emotion or ‘rasa’ of love. Actor Suriya plays Kamal while Prayaga Rose Martin plays Nethra.

Talking about the character played by Suriya, the director says: “Suriya was my first choice for this character and I don’t see anybody else playing this. I have been waiting to work with him for a very long time. This film was the best opportunity and it worked out very well.”

On the character played by Prayaga, Menon shares: “Nethra comes like a breath of fresh air in Kamal’s life. She speaks in a way that creates a lasting impression in our minds. Prayaga Rose Martin has performed the character in an edgy way. The way she talks, the way she looks, the way she plays with her hair — and these traits are not physical, it’s all in her mind. The way she talks about music and connects with the character is amazing. I am looking forward to seeing how it turns out.”

Navarasa will premiere on Netflix across 190 countries. The upcoming anthology showcases nine different emotions — of love, laughter, anger, sorrow, courage, fear, disgust, surprise and peace. Navarasa produced by Madras Talkies and Qube Cinema Technologies, and will premiere on August 6.

Chiyaan Vikram has been seen in a stunning look for his next film Dhruva Natchathiram which is touted to be spy thriller. Gautham Vasudev Menon is directing the film and Aishwarya Rajesh, Ritu Varma are the female leads. The movie has been shot across some exclusive locales of the globe and the makers are in plans to release the film in three installments. A stylish teaser has been shot in New York after which the regular shoot kick-started in Coonoor.

Dhruva Natchathiram has been shot across Slovenia, Bulgaria, Abu Dhabi, Georgia and Turkey. The movie is all about ten people who work to safeguard the country. The first installment of the film is expected to hit the screens during April 2018. Vikram will take breaks and will shoot for his other commitments and will work for Dhruva Natchathiram as per the schedules. Parthiban, Radhika Sarath Kumar and Simran will be seen in other pivotal roles.

Sundeep Kishan might team up with Gautham Menon

Actor Sundeep Kishan, who has had a phenomenal year with hits such as “Maanagaram” and “Shamanthakamani”, is likely to collaborate with filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon for a bilingual soon, a source said.

Sundeep is currently shooting for Gautham’s upcoming Tamil production “Naragasooran”.

“Sundeep and Gautham Sir have been discussing about working on a Tamil-Telugu bilingual. Both have known each other for a long time. In fact, even before he became an actor, Sundeep assisted Gautham briefly. An official announcement can be expected soon,” a source in the know told IANS.

They are currently busy wrapping up “Naragasooran”. If everything goes as planned, they might join hands next.

“Gautham Sir is really impressed with Sundeep’s knack for choosing diverse roles. He really loved his work in ‘Maanagaram’. They had planned to work together in the past but things didn’t fall in place,” the source said.

Directed by Karthick Naren, “Naragasooran” is being shot in Kerala. The film also stars Arvind Swami, Indrajith Sukumaran and Shriya Saran.

Gautham Menon, on the other hand, is busy wrapping up Tamil spy thriller “Dhruva Natchathirama, which stars Vikram in the lead.

On the eve of his birthday ( April 17th), a stylish one minute teaser studded with shots of Vikram sporting a salt and pepper look has been unveiled by the makers. Vikram’s striking makeover and his age defying looks in the teaser are creating ripples among the viewers and the teaser is going viral in social media. The thumping background score given by Harris Jayraj uplifts the zeal of watching the teaser. Tipped to be a spy thriller, Dhruva Natachathiram has Ritu Varma as the female lead.

Gautham Menon is the director and Escape Artists Motion Pictures is producing the film. The principal shooting is progressing at a brisk pace at present.

AR Rahman’s music is another plus for the film and the audio launch is slated for the next month.
