    Actors living the characters they essay in their films is quite common. This is called method acting. On some occasions, we have seen our Telugu stars staying in character off screen. Some of the recent examples : Allu Arjun refrained from eating non vegetarian food while shooting for his recent film Duvvada Jagannadham in which he played an orthodox Brahmin. Also, it is heard that Ram Charan is keeping himself away from gadgets as his upcoming film Rangasthalam is set in 1980s.

    These instances sound credible . But, the case of NTR seems a little weird.

    For his upcoming film, he played a triple role as Jai , Lava and Kusa. Since the film went on floors, a lot has been discussed about the Jai character, which NTR and his team claim as the standout role of the three. It has a grey shade attached to it and has speech impairment. During the audio launch event, film’s producer and NTR’s brother revealed that NTR was completely immersed in the character and experienced strange happenings while he was off the shoot, leaving his wife in a state of consternation.

    Now, during his recent interview to a Telugu channel, NTR revealed the same. He said that he was loosely hanging off the windows during odd hours and was talking to himself which frightened his wife. He also said that he found difficult to come out of character.

    The interview videos went viral in social media and some excerpts were posted as tweets in the channel’s Twitter page. Very soon, netizens made a mockery of his exaggerated statements and started ridiculing it as a mere publicity stunt. This has led to the deletion of videos and tweets from the channel’s YouTube channel and Twitter page.

    Many are opining that NTR has gone overboard in the interview. They feel that he is trying too much to prove the film has a great story. Well, if the film really has a strong subject, there is no need of artificial buildup.

    Who will win the dussehra race ?

    Tollywood’s second biggest movie season after Sankranti is almost upon us. And a lot of money is riding on them. “Jai Lava Kusa”, “Spyder” and “Mahanubhavudu”. All the three trailers look so different from each other and promise a feast ahead full of action, comedy and plenty of “Non-Arjun Reddy”kind of romance (which families can watch together without cringing).

    “Mahanubhavudu” starring Sharwanand is once again the proverbial dark horse. The last time Sharwanand entered the den of box-office sweepstakes, he walked away with honors with “Express Raja”. The concept of Obsessive Cleanliness Disorder must be bursting at the seams with explosive laughter. But I wonder why Sharwanand doesn’t always pick the most glamorous looking heroines to up his market cap.

    “Jai Lava Kusa” looks to be a sure-shot winner with plenty of action, formula mix of triple-action stunts with three shades of characterization. People are touting this to be another DVSK for today’s generation. I think NTR has already proved his versatility by sharing screen with his own other self in “Adhurs” which is still the best “Hello Brother” kind of film for the new millennium. Ram Charan is the only other new hero who tried dual roles with success. But NTR is different, he can pack a punch and bring out visceral magnetism from any role if he goes after that. But history proves that barring “Daana Veera Soora Karna”, triple role films have always bombed at the box office. Examples, “Mugguru Monagallu” (Chiranjeevi) and “Michael Madana Kama Raju” (though it got accolades for Kamal Hassan). Proves that two is a crowd-puller but three is really a crowd on screen. If JLK becomes a hit, NTR’s career which is already cruising with back-to-back hits will take off.

    “Spyder” trailer has been a mixed bag for those who remember Mahesh films. His trailers never did justice to his films and most times, his films often belied the promise of the trailers. This Murgadoss film trailer looks more like a Shankar film full of VFX and Anti-hero particles blocking the hero. I also wonder why Superstar has reverted to using the suffix BABU. I don’t know whether Mahesh Babu is numerologically good or just an affectionate way to address a handsome youth icon. Music by Harris Jayaraj looks like any of Murgadoss films but the most enigmatic draw of the trailer is the ferociousness of SJ Suryah. And the heroine Rakul Preet Singh. The makeover of heroines in Murgadoss films is always a cut above the rest of their filmographies. Mahesh Babu will face the litmus test of his life with this iconic clash with NTR Jr.

    Historically, Superstar Krishna and Sr.NTR regularly clashed at the box-office on signature festival days. On one occasion, the late NT Rama Rao’s “DVS Karna” directly clashed with Superstar Krishna’s “Kurukshetram”. NTR’s triple role versus the combined might of Krishna, Sobhanbabu and Krishnam Raju. DVS Karna stole the box office thunder and the biggest joke was on “Kurukshetram” (“Everybody is worried that Shobhan Babu’s Kireetam (crown) will fall any time”!).

    But history need not repeat itself. Or will it? Let’s wait and watch the fun.

It is accepted that the film has immense craze considering NTR essays Triple role for the first time, but the record time in which the trailer clocked 10 million digital views has set a new benchmark for upcoming biggies. Can Mahesh Babu’s SPYder, which is entering the Dasara box office arena as a competitor to JLK beat the record set by the NTR starrer?

    Despite Mahesh Babu commands a huge fan base, breaking the record of JLK trailer looks very difficult for SPYder trailer. While the SPYder trailer will be unveiled at the pre-release event to be held on 15th Sep, the trailer of another Dasara release, Sharwanand’s Mahanubhavudu will be unveiled on the immediate next day, 16th Sep.     Actor Rana Daggubati on Monday said he is looking forward to watching actor Jr NTR play the character Jai in upcoming Telugu action-drama “Jai Lava Kusa”.

    In reply to Jr NTR’s tweet in which he shared the trailer of “Jai Lava Kusa”, Rana wrote: “What a fine actor you are man! Waiting to watch Jai.”

    In the Bobby-directed film, NTR plays a triple role – Jai, Lava and Kusa and the characters are modelled after Ram, Lakshman and Raavan.

    The character Jai, who speaks with a stutter, plays Raavan.

    Released on Sunday, the trailer of “Jai Lava Kusa” has clocked over 4 million views so far.

    Slated for release on September 21, the film also stars Ronit Roy, Nivetha Thomas and Raashi Khanna.

    Nandamuri Kalyan Ram for the first time is producing his brother NTR’s film Jai Lava Kusa. The film’s pre-release event took place last night and Kalyan Ram who generally prefers to stay calm has been spotted loud and emotional during the event. He even sounded very confident about Jai Lava Kusa.

    “When Bobby narrated the script for ten minutes, it reminded me of Daana Veera Sura Karna. That film cannot be touched again and now it is the same with Jai Lava Kusa. No one can do Jai Lava Kusa other than Tarak. I was impressed within minutes but Tarak took one week to take a decision. He took this time to prepare himself to portray the role of Jai. He got addicted so much in the role of Raavana that one night at 3 AM he woke up and started chanting the dialogues of Jai Lava Kusa. His wife was much worried about this” said Kalyan Ram.

    “Tarak swept all the awards for Janatha Garage and I am sure he will repeat it with Jai Lava Kusa. But this time Tarak is going to even get a national award and I want to see it with this film. Jai Lava Kusa is a treat for fans and they will be proud. Money is never an important thing and we wanted to make a great film, we made it. Bobby is a talented director and we always had firm belief in him” revealed the actor turned producer.

    Jai Lava Kusa directed by Bobby is all set for September 21st release. Rashi Khanna and Nivetha Thomas are the female leads.

He also amusingly warned fans that they will be obsessed with the three roles in the film.
