Kamal’s Cult Classic all set for Re-release

Padmashri Kamal Haasan essayed the lead role in Aalavandhan which released in 2000. The film has been based on a book ‘Dayam’ which has been penned by Kamal himself. Directed by Suresh Krissna, the film featured Raveena Tandon, Manisha Koirala, Vallabh Vyas, and Milind Gunaji in supporting roles. Aalavandhan ended up as a commercial failure but the cult classic received critical acclaim. The film even won national award for the Best Special Effects.

Now the makers are in plans to re-release the film and the digital conversion work started today. Once the film gets digitally remastered, Aalavandhan will release in 500 screens worldwide this year. S Thanu produced Aalavandhan on V Creations and the movie has been made on a massive budget of Rs 20 crores during 2000. Shankar Ehsaan Loy composed the music for Aalavandhan which released on November 14th 2001.

Kamal Haasan records last song in ‘Vishwaroopam 2’

Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan revealed on Tuesday he has recorded the last song from upcoming trilingual spy thriller “Vishwaroopam 2”, a sequel to 2013 blockbuster “Vishwaroopam”.

“Recorded last song in ‘Vishwaroopam 2’. Hindi Lyrics by Prasoon Joshi. Tamizh lyrics by me. Tune is infectious to say the least. Telugu to record soon,” Haasan tweeted.

Earlier this year, Haasan said he is personally getting involved to pave way for the release of the much delayed “Vishwaroopam 2”.

“For all looking forward to ‘Vishwaroopam 2’, I’m personally getting involved to clear the path. Bigger obstacles are out of the way. What’s left is tech and legal,” he said in an earlier tweet.

In the film, Kamal plays a RAW agent, and it also features Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jeremiah in pivotal roles.

The film, which has music by Ghibran, was simultaneously shot in Tamil and Hindi. It has been dubbed in Telugu.

Kamal all set for Tamil Big Boss

Inspired from a reality show Big Brother, Big Boss has been a huge sensation in the country. Hosted by Salman Khan, Big Boss is the most popular reality shows in the country. Now South Indian Superstar Kamal Haasan is all set to make his debut as a television host with the Tamil version of the reality show. The actor revealed the news during his recent media interactions.

The actor said “I never hosted a television show till date and I found this interesting after which I said yes. Though it is difficult to make it with my current commitments as I am already running eight months behind the planned schedules. I am working simultaneously on Sabhash Naidu and for Vishwaroopam 2. My schedules are being worked for Big Boss and I have see how they work. Salman has been exceptional in Big Boss and he bonds genuinely with the contestants”.

‘Cheekati Rajyam’ trailer to be unveiled today

‘Cheekati Rajyam’ is a Telugu-Tamil bilingual thriller starring Universal actor Kamal Haasan and gorgeous actress Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles. The film is an official remake of the French movie ‘ Sleepless night ‘ in which the entire story unravels during a single night. Kamal Haasan is playing a cop in the film.

The theatrical trailer of the film will be released today evening at 4:21 PM through the official YouTube channel. Currently the post production phase is going on and the makers are planning to release the film as a Diwali treat in November. Prakash Raj, Madhu Shalini , Sampath Raj and few others are playing important roles in the film. Rajesh M Selva is the director and Raaj Kamal Films has produced the film. Ghibran is the music composer.
