    Lover : The film has collected an approx 2 Crores Share by the end of it’s first week in Domestic markets against the valued rights of over 7 Crores. The film is a huge disaster and Biggest ever in Raj Tarun’s Career.

    RX 100 : The film has slowed down a little during the weekdays in it’s Second Week which was expected as it has a limited appeal. Nevertheless the film is a Blockbuster with more than 10.25 Cr Share in Domestic Markets.

    ChinnaBabu : The film was steady in it’s second week with minimal shares taking two weeks cumulative share to 3.80 Crores in Telugu States. It is a disaster as theatrical rights are valued for more than 7 Crores.

    Pantham : The film has closed it’s business with a distributor share of 10.30 Cr in Domestic Markets against the theatrical rights of more than 13 Crores. Below Average Fare.

    Manchu Lakshmi’s W/O Ram was a washout and Vijetha has ended up as a disaster with 1 Cr Share.

    1. Pantham : Pantham has an average extended weekend at the Box-office with distributors recovering over 50% of their investments. The film couldn’t capitalize the decent openings it has got as the reports are mixed which will affect it more in the weekdays.

    2. Tej I Love U : After a poor opening, the film has never made it’s ground which resulted in a poor weekeend. Distributors recovery is ranging from 20-30 percent till now. It is going to be hard for the film from now on as the reports are very poor.

    3. Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi : This is the only holdover film which continued to do decent business in A centers especially multiplexes. It will be ending up as an Average venture as it will be out from most of the theatres by the end of this week.

    US box office : Another disappointing weekend for Tollywood

    The dull phase for Telugu films is continuing at the US box office due to lack of a decent hit since the last couple of months after Mahanati. All recent films have thoroughly failed to attract audience.

    It is another disappointing weekend for trade circles as latest films Pantham and Tej I Love You failing to make an impact at the box office in overseas. Both these films are performing very poorly in their first weekend.

    While Sai Dharam Tej’s Tej I Love You collected $ 58K, Gopichand’s 25th film garnered $ 57K till now.

    Buddy comedy Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi has surpassed the half million dollar mark by end of this weekend.

    Pantham has taken decent openings in Telugu States with a distributor share of close to 2.80 Cr. This is the second highest opening for the hero as it fell behind Goutam Nanda which had collected a distributor share of 3.26 Cr. In recovery point of view , the openings are better than Goutam Nanda as that film had a recovery of 17 percent on it’s Day One while Pantham has a recovery of over 23 percent. The film is carrying mixed reports and will face competition from a new release Tej I Love U.

    Macho star Gopichand’s ‘Pantham’ with tagline ‘For a Cause’ is billed as a strong social drama laced with commercial elements. Mehreen Pirzada is the leading lady and K. Chakravarthy has directed this landmark of Gopichand. Let us see how this film has been shaped up:

    Story:

    Gopichand is a guy who smartly executes black money robbery from politicians, ministers. The main target of his robberies is Nayak Bhai alias Jayendra who is a home minister. Nayak Bhai hires investigators to find the culprit, surprise fact about Gopichand’s background reveals.

    Rest of the story is revealing the cause Gopichad turned thief and his showdown with the powerful men in politics

    Performances:

    Gopichand in his 25h film has been peformed okay. In fight sequences he worked hard. Mehreen has limited screentime as Gopichand’s girl friend. Srinivas Reddy, JayaPrakash, Prudhvi Raj ‘s comedy performance evokes some laughter. Sampath Raj villainy is not so great.

    Analysis:

    ‘Pantham ‘film takes off as gopichand showcasing innovative robbery ideas. Here the word ‘innovative’ is the director’s perspective but audience won’t feel any creative stuff out there. Backdrop of this story demands some cool robbery ideas. Instead, the team filled up with all outdated ideas for robberies. Prudhviraj as house owner delivers some comedy. With no highlights, first half ends on rather dull note. Post-interval, the film picks up speed screenplay wise. As flashback opens, some twists in the plot appeal to the audience. But, soon director jumps into forced sentiment scenes until the climax. Climax has been shot in a courtroom with prolonged conversations. Some of the dialogues from climax are really good.

    Music director Gopi Sundar songs did not suit masses. Especially for the ‘Desam antE matti kodoy ‘song, audience were heard laughing at it. Mr. Prasad Murella cinematography is nice. Producer KK Radha mohan has spent lavish, production values are good

    • Decent comedy at parts
    • Dialogues , Especially Climax Court Scene

    Negatives:

    • Cliched plot
    • Weak songs
    • Outdated scenes

    Verdict:

    ‘Pantham’ movie is a routine mass flick with infused social message. This robinhood template story has racy screenplay, some comedy as it’s strengths. However, many scenes are cliched and songs are another weak point. Being a 25th film for hero Gopichand, it could have been better. Overall, it may work as an average in B, C centers and won’t get any brownie points with others

    Tej I Love You on July 6th:

    After four consecutive debacles like Thikka, Winner, Jawaan and Intelligent, Sai Dharan Tej is coming with an out and out love story to make a comeback. The film is directed by Karunakaran who is doing this film after a long 3.5 years is also looking for the same.     Lover on July 20th:

    Raj Tarun who has bitten the dust offlate with Andhhagadu and Rajugadu is looking to get back into the game with the film Lover. Being produced by Dil Raju, audio of the film has been released and is receiving good response from the listeners. The film is actually set to release on 13th of July but is now pushed to 20th of July in order to avoid clash with Vijetha (July 12th release) and Karthi’s Chinababu (July 13th release).
