Sandeep Reddy Vanga Interview

Sandeep Reddy Vanga created a sensation with Arjun Reddy and he went on to remake the film as Kabir Singh in Hindi. He bagged an opportunity to work with Ranbir Kapoor in Animal and the film is heading for release on December 1st. Here are the highlights from the interview of Sandeep Reddy Vanga in his words:

Animal is a film that narrates the bonding between a father and his son. It is also the story of a youngster who goes to any extent for his family.

Animal has no relation or coincidence with Arjun Reddy. The lead actor is emotionally high throughout the film.

Animal also has a high dose of action throughout along with a family drama.

Both Anil Kapoor and Rashmika’s roles have enough importance in Animal. Rashmika’s role is differently written and she did it well.

Animal is a film that has several layers and it needs to be told in 3 hours and 21 minutes. It is just 15 minutes more than Arjun Reddy which is a love story. I am confident that the audience would enjoy the film in theatres.

It is quite easy to work with an experienced actor like Ranbir Kapoor. I was very comfortable with Ranbir and he is one of the finest actors of the country.

Bobby Deol played the role of the lead antagonist and it will be a surprise in the film.

Harshavardhan Rameshwar worked on the background score.

I love Editing apart from directing a film. Editing is quite a tough job. I turned Editor for Animal as no one other than me understands my film better.

Rashmika dubbed for her role in Telugu, Hindi and Kannada languages.

My next film is Spirit with Prabhas. The pre-production work starts next year and the shoot commences in September 2024. After Spirit, I will be working with Allu Arjun in 2025.

I have narrated scripts for Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan. Hope to work with them very soon.

Mythri movie makers changed the track?

Mythri movie makers, the production banner, that entered Tollywood with a blockbuster like “Srimanthudu” seems to have changed it’s track. So far they have made the movies like “Srimanthudu”, Janatha Garage” and yet to release “Ranga Sthalam”.

Mythri movies used to tell to the industry folks that they will make movies only with top 5 directors and top 5 heroes. In fact this is what they did – they gave advances to top heroes and top directors. Koratala, Sukumar, Mahesh, NTR and Ram Charan – these guys are all on top league.

But now they seem to have compromised or to put in other words, “they seem to have changed their track”. They are currently doing “Savyasachi” movie with Naga chaitanya in the direction of Chandu – and both of these guys are not in top league, at least for now. In another interesting development, now they gave the director Sandeep of Arjun Reddy, an advance of INR 50 lakhs. Of course, there is nothing wrong to make small movies or to work with small or medium range heroes and directors. In fact it is a good sign. But only thing, the makers themselves used to boast of themselves as the production banner that works only with top league heroes and directors.

Hope, they will give similar blockbusters with the small/ medium range heroes and directors too

Arjun Reddy becomes Vijay’s highest grosser in overseas

Tollywood’s latest sensational hit Arjun Reddy, which took a solid opening at the box office last week, has slightly slowed down its storm in the second weekend. The bold and intense romantic drama has surpassed Vijay’s previous super hit Pelli Choopulu in overseas by the end of second Friday.

After a strong first weekend with $ 960 K, Arjun Reddy went on to collect decent figures on weekdays which include $ 47K on Monday, $ 95 K on Tuesday, $ 35K and $ 39K on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. On its second Friday, the film notched up $ 89K and surpassed the life time collections of Pelli Choopulu ( $1.22 M). Arjun Reddy has collected ( $ 1.27 M) till now and is inching towards the $ 1.5 Million club.

Arjun Reddy has set a unique record by becoming the first Telugu film with A certificate to touch the million dollar mark in overseas.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film stars Shalini Pandey as the female lead.
