Congress spokesman Dasoju Sravan decides to quit party

1

In another blow to the Congress in Telangana, party’s national spokesman Dasoju Sravan on Friday announced his resignation from the party.

He told reporters here that he is resigning from all party posts and primary membership of the party.

Alleging that there is total disorder in the party under the leadership of state unit President A. Revanth Reddy, he said he was “not ready to live like a slave” in the organisation and hence decided to resign.

He recalled that he joined the Congress in 2014 as out of gratitude to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi for carving out Telangana and after being impressed by Rahul Gandhi’s speech at Jaipur Chintan Shivir.

Sravan said he strived hard to reach to the position of party’s national spokesperson. He alleged that after Revanth Reddy became state President, the party started giving priority to leaders on the basis of caste and money power.

He said Revanth Reddy had thrown all the principles of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to wind in Telangana. He also blamed AICC incharge Manickam Tagore and strategist Sunil for the current state of affairs in the party.

Sravan said false reports were being submitted against those questioning the style of functioning of the state leadership. He alleged that the state unit has been turned into a “mafia” and was working against the party’s basic principle of rising above the caste, religious and regional considerations.

As word about Sravan’s decision to resign spread, Congress leaders started efforts to persuade him to stay in the party. Senior leaders Kodanda Redy and Mahesh Kumar Goud rushed to his residence to meet him. They appealed to him to reconsider his decision. However, Sravan made it clear that he will not go back on his decision.

His resignation came as another blow to the Congress. It came close on the heels of the resignation of MLA Komatireddy Rajagopala Reddy. He too attacked Revanth Reddy’s leadership.

Pawan talks about PRP experiment with Sravan Dasoju

4

Pawan kalyan is in Bhimavaram as part of his ‘Praja Porata Yatra’ and he has been meeting people from various segments – like people from various castes and people from various occupations. During this, he made interesting comments on caste-based voting and PRP’s experiment with Sravan Dasoju, who is currently in Telangana Congress party.

Pawan told, Sravan was his good friend and he belongs to Viswabrahmin caste. In 2009 elections, PRP gave his Secunderabad MP ticket and he got 1.38 lakhs votes despite the fact that there are none from his caste in that constituency. But same Sravan later joined TRS and TRS denied him MLA ticket saying his caste doesn’t have strength to make him win in that constituency. After this, Sravan, who worked in Telangana movement sincerely, left TRS and joined Congress. So, Pawan reminded people do not always vote based on caste.

It is good that Pawan still remembers PRP experiments. Pawan has also campaigned for Sravan in Secunderabad. However, it’s same Sravan, in the capacity of TRS leader, who vociferously opposed Pawan’s ‘Cameraman Ganga tho Rambabu’ movie saying it’s against Telangana movement. Of course later, after joining Congress, Sravan was seen talking positively about PRP.

T-Cong cries foul on TS land-selling spree

0

Congress today took strong exception to the Telangana government’s decision to sell 8000 acres of land across 10 districts of the state.

Telangana Congress chief spokesperson Dr Srvan Dasoju ridiculed the government justification that it had decided to sell away the lands as it was not able to protect them. “It’s a lame excuse. It’s only a pretext to offer the precious lands to near and dear ones of the government,” he said. He released a photograph of a dharna conducted by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti on July 12, 2012, decrying the then chief minister Kirankumar Reddy’s decision to sell HMDA lands. The dharna was led by none other than

present IT minister K T Ramarao.

“Now the same party, which is running the government, is resorting to the  practice initiated by a  regime which TRS fought against. Is it not height of hypocrisy ?,” Dr Sravan Dasoju asked. Dasoju recalled how the TRS leadership opposed the land selling  by Andhrollu during the T-movement. He wondered as to how  the Telangana government follows the footsteps of a rabid anti-Telangana chief minister and decides to transfer the land to private agencies and capitalists.  The TRS always talked about land grabbing in around greater Hyderabad. But it had  been  almost 16 months and not even a single acre land had been resumed by the government, he added.

“We can create anything, but not the Land. The land is a very scarce commodity  and it is required for future generations. It is a mindless act and is totally unacceptable to Congress,” he said. The Congress chief spokesperson said  the TRS leaders filed cases against Padmalaya studio alleging that they had grabbed crores  worth of government  land and now not only had they fallen silent, they had even given clean chit. “TRS government is very excited about the fact that Mahesh, film actor has adopted a village having his family indulged in such a massive land grabbing. The same hypocritical policy is being adopted in case of Nagarjuna also,” he said.

“The CM is spending crores of rupees on festivals, pushkaraas, temple constructions, temple donations and for other unproductive activities which resulted in the present financial crisis,” he said adding that if at there was any fund deficit, TRS leadership was to be blamed. He demanded  immediately revocation of the decision to sell  Telangana lands .
