YSRC: TDP’s Noise on Sec.8 is Drama

0

[dropcap] Y[/dropcap]SR Congress rapped TDP for trying to divert the attention of the people to cover up its role in cash-for-vote scam by selectively popping up the provisions of the State Reorganisation Act as serious issue.

The party said the hullabaloo about section-8 of the act by TDP was meaning less as it had been in force ever since  bifurcation bill  got presidential assent.

Party MLA Rajendranath Reddy said there were more important issues than section 8 to fight for and to exert pressure on union government.

“Along with Section 8 there are other provisions like the Special Status, funds for Polavaram, assurance to de-notify degraded forest land for building the capital city, which are all in force from the appointed date June 2, 2014 but TDP is bring up non issues one after the other as a diversionary tactic,” he said.

He wondered as to why TDP had been silent on the issue like polavaram.

The Rs 100 crore allocated to Polavaram by the Centre is only to set up the Project Authority and the State Government is silent on the issue, even though there has been no funding for the project, he added.

“The TDP has not consulted any of the political parties to put collective effort on the implementation of the provisions of Act. It has been governing in a dictatorial manner eschewing democratic practices,” he said.

Stating that invoking Section 8 does not arise as it is already in force, Reddy said the ruling party highlighting issue time and again only to cover up its failures and growing unpopularity in the state and to divert the attention of the people from the cash for vote scam in Telangana.

Jagan’s political tomfoolery in cash-for-vote scam

0

It is pretty clear that the political heat between AP and TS governments is coming down.  An impression that things will be allowed to take their own course without any political influence with regard to the cash-for-vote scam and so called  phone-tapping charge by AP government is gaining ground. Not only have warring factions, TDP and TRS, fallen silent, the YSRC leadership which played in the sidelines has also stepped aside.  Centre took objection to the unsavoury remarks being made by AP ministers against Governor .  Finally, chief minister Naidu had to instruct his colleagues against attracting the wrath of Raj Bhvan. His office on Friday midday informed journalists about CM’s advisory to the ministers.

In whole drama, YS Jaganmohan Reddy, YSR Congress president and Opposition leader in AP Assembly, played a bit of tomfoolery.  Ever since the cash-for-vote sting tapes leaked to electronic media, it was Jagan who behaved like a man-possessed.

He thought the  cash-of-vote case was a great opportunity  to settle scores with  his bête noire chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and to send him to Chenchalguda jail, where the former Kadapa MP spent nearly one and half year.

He made more noise than any other politician in the state on cash-for-vote scam. He was more vocal in demanding that Naidu be made accused number one. He also demanded that Naidu should step down and face the probe. He also extended support to TRS government in Telangana to act quickly in arresting the AP chief minister. As if it was not enough he rushed to New Delhi and petitioned to the President Pranab Mukherjee and union home minister Rajnath Singh for a high-level probe in to Naidu’s role in cash-for-vote scam.

He lamented that Andhra Pradesh, under Naidu’s rule, had become a haven of corruption.

Jagan seems to have underestimated the depth of regional sentiment among the AP people following bifurcation of the state. His overt alliance with KCR, who is generally perceived as anti-Andhra, brought him disrepute among people of Andhra Pradesh. Chances are that he is seen as an ally of TRS in Andhra Pradesh, which does not augur well for his party.

YSRC Lashes Out at Chandrababu, Demands Resignation

0

The cash-for-vote scam is now becoming a powerful tool for the opposition YSRC in Andhra Pradesh. The leader of opposition in Andhra Pradesh assembly, YS Jagan shifted his base to the national capital on Friday.

He has reportedly met the key leaders on Tuesday and is set to meet a few more, including the union home minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday evening.

Jagan has been reportedly appealing to the Centre that Chandrababu Naidu be made accused number one (A-1) in cash-for-vote scam.

Briefing the media post meeting, Jagan questioned as to why no action has not been taken on Chandrababu Naidu despite strong evidence supporting his involvement in the bribery case.

He went on to say that the media and people of the nation should come together to fight this issue. He further questioned as to how much money would be involved in the entire episode.

Jagan even demanded that Chandrababu Naidu, owing to these allegations should resign as the chief minister, and in case if he doesn’t resign he must be forced to do so.

Lok Satta party chief, Jayaprakash Narayan too responded to the issue and questioned if Chandrababu Naidu would resign in case it’s ascertained the voice on record was that of Babu.

It looks like YSRC got a strong reason to bank on this alleged scam even in the next general elections.
