TDP continues BJP bashing

Continuing the counter offensive launched by TDP MLC Buddah Venkanna yesterday against BJP triumvirate Kanna, Kavuri and Purandeswari, party’s newly appointed spokesperson Dokka Manikya Varaprasad remarked that BJP leaders were forgetting that they were allies of TDP. Commenting on Purandeswari, he said the former union minister was talking more like an agent of Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, rather than a leader of BJP.

TDP suspects that the BJP is trying to prevent the migration of Kapus towards Telugu Desam party following chief minister Naidu’s decision to set up Kapu Finance Corporation with a seed capital of Rs 100 crore. This message is clear from the statements of Dokka and Chadalawada Krishnamurhty tody.

Also a former Congress minister, Manikya Varaprasad joined TDP two months ago. Talking to media Varaprasad said Kapus need not attach much significance to the statement of some BJP leaders. He said the BJP leaders were violating the coalition dharma in attacking the TDP government. ” People will appreciate the BJP leaders if they extend support to the developmental programs taken up the TDP government instead of leveling baseless charges,” he advised. Lauding chief minister’s efforts to help the Kapus, the former minister cautioned the members of Kapu caste that they should be aware of the designs of leaders who spoke of Kapus only when they were out of power.

Varaprasad also disapproved of the Rayalaseema politics of BJP and YSR Congress. He requested the leaders of YSR Congress and BJP not to commit a mistake by playing up the regional sentiment that could prove costly for the state. Meanwhile, TTD Chairman, Kapu leader from Rayalaseema, Chadalawada Krishnamurthy said he got this coveted post just because of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu’s commitment to the upliftment of Kapus. ” The government allocated only Rs 100 for the Kapu Corporation keeping in view the financial crunch in the state,” he added.
