Rowdy Vijay Deverakonda and director Rahul Sankrityan, previously collaborated for blockbuster Taxiwaala and now bringing a revolutionary tale VD14. The film titled Ranabaali is releasing in theatres on September 11th, 2026 across Pan India.
The title was officially announced today with a powerful prelude that introduces the Cursed Land and its Hero, featuring striking visuals and an intense glimpse. Rahul Sankrityan narrates how the British inflicted immense suffering on Indians, particularly in certain regions that were deliberately turned into drought zones under Sir Richard Temple. The glimpse highlights the claim of “a genocide worse than Hitler’s Holocaust in British-occupied India” and the assertion that “$45 trillion was stolen from India.” These revelations are sure to make every Indian’s blood boil.
Vijay Deverakonda plays the legendary hero of the Cursed Land, Ranabaali (1878), while Rashmika Mandanna stuns as Jayamma. Arnold Vosloo, famed for The Mummy, portrays Sir Theodore Hector. Vijay Deverakonda’s powerful introduction – riding a horse while dragging a British officer along railway tracks has significantly raised the hype for the film.
The Ajay–Atul duo background score is electrifying and promises a blockbuster album and soundtrack. The film is being produced on a grand scale by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar, with T-Series presenting it. Top-class technicians and an ensemble cast are coming together for this revolutionary period drama.
Ranabaali is inspired by real incidents from the 1850s that never found space in mainstream history books. It’s based on real incidents in the time period of 1850-1900, incidents the British strategically misrepresented in History and characters they maligned as Savages and Rebels.
After successful films like Dear Comrade and Kushi, this marks the third collaboration between Vijay Deverakonda and Mythri Movie Makers. After Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade, “Ranabaali” will be the third film in which Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda appear together as a pair.
