The TDP circles are celebrating the centre’s move constituting a chief minister’s panel headed by their supremo N Chadnrababu Naidu to discuss the plight of the public due to the currency ban, besides formulates a road map for cashless economy. Party leaders felt this reflects recognisation to Naidu’s concerted efforts towards a `clean economy’.

However, the main opposition in the state, YSR Congress questioned the rationale behind this appointment accusing that Naidu has been facing many charges of corruption including having funds in foreign countries.

Party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma reminded that the very same person expressed resentment on bankers and did not make a single attempt to come to the rescue of the common public but instead has put the advance information to clean up his house and set it in order.

She recalled that it was the same person who had stashed high value currency in a bag to buy a MLA in Telangana state and was caught red-handed with audio-visual evidence. He also has business interests in foreign countries was widely published during his earlier term as Chief Minister which must have grown stronger by now.

Digitalisation of economy cannot take place in one go and has to be done gradually and it takes at least six months to refill the currency by which time the suffering of people would multiply, she added.
