AP assembly sessions set a bad example

When it comes to conduct and dignity, Andhra Pradesh assembly is a disgrace. The sessions which are supposed to be worthwhile, is not yet totally useless but a bad example. The opposition in Telangana said that they are not given enough time to speak. Harish Rao quoting AP assembly as example said that the mics of the opposition party are cut off abruptly in the neighboring state. The Minister of Irrigation further said that in the AP the LOP was not even getting the mic but in Telangana even though the opposition is less in number, it is being given more time than the ruling party.

Leave alone dignity and morals, AP assembly stands a witness for uproar. Like every other day in assembly, the YCP members stormed the well and raised slogans against the Chief Minister. Chandrababu iterated never in his political experience has he witnessed such unruly behavior of the opposition party. Yanamala said that people should be fined for wasting the time of the house. When there is, nothing left to say, just walk away. Likewise, the Opposition party staged a walk out as the assembly was taking an oath on the world water day.

While they are not a good example inside the assembly, they are even horrible at the media point. As the assembly session is dominated by slogans, the media point has become another location for drama. The Assembly media point witnessed some disgusting scenes yesterday when women legislators of TDP and YCP came face-to-face and indulged in a war of words. Today the same thing happened again, but this time it was the men legislators of both the parties who indulged in verbal duel. To be able to attend assembly sessions each day with honor, dignity and respect has become the most difficult task for both the sides.

People push you to limits and when you explode you become the mean one. So was the chief minister who lost his patience and in a hurry to give back had a slip-of-tongue. Chandrababu Naidu speaking about the Special Category status protests on January 26, said it is a day to celebrate “independence” and feel great about our country, but Jagan wanted to protest in Vishakapatnam. He condemned the behavior of Opposition at various occasions. The Chief Minster also said the Opposition was creating obstacles for development and there was no use with the YSRC leaders to the state. Chandrababu who seemed to make sense also ended up displaying his pompous nature.
