Sivaji Raja had a clean image as the President of Movie Artists Association (MAA). Along with his team, he introduced several welfare schemes like pensions, Kalyana Lakshmi and scholarships for the poor. Everyone estimated that he would be elected as the President for MAA for the second time in a row but Naresh’s panel dethroned him in the elections that took place yesterday. Despite Chiranjeevi, Mohan Babu and Nagarjuna offering their indirect support to Sivaji Raja, he could not stand in the wave.
In a surprise move, Naga Babu came out and supported Naresh’s panel. All the Mega compound supporters or followers turned towards Naresh after this move. Actors like Mohan Babu and Brahmanandam who supported Sivaji Raja did not come to cast their votes. Sri Reddy’s issue happened to be a black mark for MAA and spoiled the reputation of MAA. Naresh as General Secretary was quite active and he introduced some schemes on the name of his mother Vijayanirmala.
Naresh and his team conducted a survey about the poor and the needy, helped them which turned out to be a huge advantage for the actor. Jeevitha’s support added strength after they could cash the votes of women. Apart from these, people wanted a change and voted for Naresh. Though Sivaji Ravi got a clean image as MAA President, he could not stand in the wave.
