A few days ago, we have reported that 13th December has been confirmed as the release date for Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Venky Mama’. Venky never had a movie release for his birthday in his long career and fans went gaga over this release date. But doubts started raising why the makers are not pushing promotions even as the d-day is nearing.
Finally, clarity is emerging. The makers have informed the USA distributor to arrange premiere shows on 24th December. So, the film will release for Christmas (December 25).
‘Venky Mama’ has changed the film’s release dates many times. It was originally scheduled for October and then the Sankranthi season was seriously considered. Now, he is looking at December 25 release as the holidays during Christmas and New Year would be an advantage. Suresh Babu has been lamenting that the business for Telugu films has become a ‘weekend business’.
Still, there is no “official” word about the release date from the makers.
