A massive public outrage grows as an old man killed in a road accident involving the convoy of former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Singaiah, an elderly man, lost his life after being hit by a vehicle reportedly Jagan’s car. A viral video has surfaced online, clearly showing how the accident unfolded contradicting earlier claims made by the police and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders.
Following the public outcry, the police registered a case. Jagan’s driver Niranjan Reddy has been booked as Accused No. 1 (A1), and Jagan named as Accused No. 2 (A2). However, despite this, no official notice has been served to Jagan so far. The investigation is reportedly ongoing, but critics argue that the delay in action reflects a double standard in law enforcement.
What’s raising more anger is the shocking fact that after the accident, neither Jagan, nor his driver, nor even the police or media present at the spot made an attempt to help the victim. This complete negligence has drawn harsh criticism from citizens, legal experts, and the political opposition.
On the day of the incident, the district Superintendent of Police held a press meet, claiming that Jagan was not in the vehicle involved in the accident. This statement was used by YSRCP to push a narrative that the vehicles didn’t belong to them and blamed the ruling TDP for falsely accusing them.
But the situation flipped when the video footage went viral, clearly showing the vehicles and the sequence of events. Since then, there’s been total silence from the YSRCP. The ruling TDP, despite being in power, is also facing criticism for not ensuring that due legal process is followed equally.
People are now openly questioning the system. Many feel that if any ordinary citizen was involved in such an accident, they would have been immediately arrested. They are demanding that the police prove that the law is equal for all, regardless of power or political connections.
With pressure mounting from all sides, the next few days could be crucial in determining whether justice will be served or if this becomes yet another case buried under political influence.
