Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan’s much awaited period drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu has been accorded special permissions by the NDA government ahead of its grand release this 24th. Besides providing hike in ticket prices for the first ten days, the film has been permitted to have paid premieres on the night before the release day at select centers . This is a big gamble by the producer because the talk from premiere shows will have a huge impact on the first day numbers.
According to producer AM Ratnam, Hari Hara Veera Mallu will have special shows at 9 PM on the day before release. The government has allowed to price tickets at Rs 600 each for these shows. This is the first time after many years that a big-ticket film is going to have paid premieres in Andhra Pradesh. As this is the first release for Pawan Kalyan after his tremendous turn around in politics and also after he became Deputy Chief Minister, trade circles are eagerly waiting to see the box office performance in the first week.
The government has capped ticket prices at 200, 150 and 100 including GST for different classes until August 2nd. The orders to this effect have already been released by the Ministry of Cinematography and necessary directions to all concerned have reportedly been informed to act accordingly and avoid any untoward incidents.
This move is going to be a big boost for the opening day revenues. If the film manages to secure positive reviews from special shows, there will be a strong opening weekend at the box office. Meanwhile, permissions from the Telangana government are keenly awaited.
Krish Jagarlamudi directed some portions of Hari Hara Veera Mallu and left half way due to some creative differences and the prolonged delay. Later, Jyothi Krishna took over the film and completed it. Nidhhi Agerwal and Bobby Deol played prominent roles in this fictional story of legendary outlaw Veera Mallu.
