Harish, KTR – Brother-in-Laws comradeship in Telangana assembly

0

Till recently, projections were made on the possible succession clashes in the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) between Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and IT and Industries Minister K Tarakarama Rao. While Harish Rao is the nephew of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, KTR is the son. Speculations are going into air since a long that who would succeed KCR in the party and also government.

Some of the party leaders also seems to be divided between these two leaders. Both of them were hardly seen jointly. With the allocation of several important portfolios to his son, Chief Minister is also said to be indicated that son would be his successor.

However, Harish Rao, being working with uncle since the inception of TRS, is having intense gross root connections in the party and daily numerous number of party workers from all over the state used to be in touch with him. KTR, who had joined the Telangana movement at a later stage returning from US, is seen mostly as a `urban face’ of the party.

All the political leaders in Telangana assembly are now surprising to see rare comradeship being exhibited by these two brother-in-laws during the ongoing winter session. Earlier, being the legislature affairs minister Harish Rao used to monitor assembly related issues and also formulates party strategies.

But for the first time, KTR is also taking active part and along with Harish Rao playing crucial role in retorting opposition’s attacks on the government. Daily he is attending TRS legislature party’s `strategy session’s being held ahead of commencement of the session in Harish Rao’s chamber. Both of them sharing works, while one attending Assembly and the other attending Legislative Council.

Both of them also giving fitting replies to the accusations on the government being made by senior opposition leaders. While respecting their seniority and age, these young leaders making hard-hit comments. Thus hardly giving space for other ministers or party MLAs/MLCs to intervene in debates.
