President Ramnath Kovind and Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu are themselves enquiring about the effectiveness of Coronavirus prevention measures in different states. As part of this, they are holding video conference with the Governors. Already, the status of anti-COVID measures are being kept under close watch by the respective states Governors.
The Central Government has decided not to take any chances in this respect. Union Home Affairs Ministry is in constant touch with the Governors. The Ministry is also unhappy with some states for not taking strong steps in certain pockets.
The President and Vice President are also particular about the implementation of the lockdown sternly. This is in view of the reports that some sections of people are not taking lockdown and physical distancing seriously despite rising Corona cases.
