In the entire country, there is hardly any region or appropriate facilities to host Olympics or any international sporting event of that level. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu earlier said that his government was ready to host prestigious Olympics games in the new capital Amaravati. The CM announced that for the first time ever, the sports city in Amaravati will be built with provisions needed to host Olympics. He also ensured to conduct at least one Olympic events in Amaravati to let the world know the capabilities of the city.
The TDP chief said he is contemplating to host 2019-20 common wealth games in the capital city. The sports city is one of the nine cities that the CM had planned for the capital Amaravati.
On the auspicious occasion of Ugadi, Chandrababu laid a foundation stone for the ring road project at Yerrabalem in Amaravati. The roads would be laid in 68.85km at a cost of 1051 crore rupees. He termed the seven roads as diamonds and said that they will be laid on par with international standards.
