P&G offers 80 pc jobs for Telangana youth

Multi-national FMGC , Proctor & Gamble, which is mulling  to set up  a  Planning Centre in Telangana, promised that 80 per cent of its recruits in the proposed unit would be from Telangana. The encouraging, rather first of its kind assurance fron any company that want set shop in the state, came from none other than P& Gs  Managing Directors A I Rajwani. The company will also participate in an appropriate way in the in the Telanana’s KG to PG free education program.

A delegation of top executives of the company led by its Managing Director A.I. Rajwani called on Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao Friday  and discussed their plans .

According to sources in the government Rajwani explained to the Chief Minister that the MNC also had plans to expand its existing unit located at Penjarla village near Kottur in Mahabubnagar District. The facility, established in 171 acres, has employee strength of 786. The company has plans  to increase the headcount to about 1,200. The sources said  Rajwani categorically stated that  80 per of the new recruits would be from  from Telangana state.

The Planning Centre will have 50 highly-skilled persons to begin with and the number will go up  to 100 later in due course.  Chief Minister Rao, responding to the proposal positively,  said Telangana was the best destination for expanding their activities in the country in the light of  recent announced industrial policy.

Mahabubnagar MP A.P. Jithender Reddy Reddy, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister S. Narsing Rao, Additional Principal Secretary A. Shanti Kumari, Secretary Industries Arvind Kumar, Managing Director of Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) Narsimha Reddy and others were present  in the meeting.
