One of the youngest and finest Sports journalists in Telugu Battineni Jayaprakash of Sakshi Newspaper passed away reportedly due to heart attack at his home in IDPL in Hyderabad on Friday. He is 37 and is survived by wife and two children, a son (6) and a daughter (4).

According to the Sakshi sports journalists, Jayaprakash, who hails from Ambaarpet in Madhira of Khammam district, was getting ready to go to office and collapsed in the bathroom.

Jayaprakash started his career in Eenadu in 2003-04. After working as a journalist in Eenadu from 2004-07, he took a break from the profession. Later he joined in Sakshi in 2008 and earned a good name as a journalist. He became sports in charge in 2013. He has been heading the sports operations of the newspaper very effectively.

“He is a very nice colleague. With his demise, I lost a source of inspiration and a reliable guide. It is a great loss to the sports journalists ,” one of Jayaprakash’s colleague told Telugu360.com. Jayaprakash recently covered a test match between India and England.

The last rites will be held in his native place on Saturday, sources said.
