The famous saying, ‘Luck favours the brave’, rightly suits AP BJP senior leader Somu Veerraju. He is undeniably the firebrand in AP Politics currently. Initially, BJP High Command has chosen P Manikyala Rao as the AP BJP President after it axed the former President Kambhampati Hari Babu. It is still debatable where Ram Madhav is behind this or not.
However, former Minister P Manikyala Rao rejected the BJP High Command’s offer subtly and stayed away. Though Lakshmi Narayana name has cropped up, it was withdrawn, given the criticism, it drew.
In this context, after talking to various cadre members, and other former senior leaders, the BJP High Command has shown its willingness to nominate Somu Veerraju as the next AP BJP President. Somu Veerraju is known for his blatant attack on TDP, and Chandrababu Naidu in particular. Even before the spat between TDP and BJP became public, Somu Veerraju has condemned the AP Government, run by TDP on several fronts. The same is expected to be confirmed later in the week by BJP sources.
It will be interesting to see whether Somu Veerraju will slow down his pace, given the added responsibility, or will continue bashing the TDP.
