    If there is ever a combination that has a chance of breaking the box office records of SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali 2, it should definitely be the Shankar – Rajinikanth combo which reunited for the costliest Indian film ever, 2Point0, a sequel to their 2010 science fiction thriller Robot.

    In terms of its pre release business, 2Point0 has surpassed the record set up by Baahubali 2 in Kerala. According to the latest reports, the distribution rights of 2Point0 for Kerala region have been sold for a whopping 16 Crores to August Cinema, a noted distribution house owned by actor Arya and cinematographer Santosh Sivan.

    Baahubali 2 was sold for 10 Crores and got a release in across 300 screens. Now, 2Point0 has set a new benchmark and is likely to open in nearly 500 screens, thus making for the biggest ever release in God’s Own Country.

    2Point0 stars Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in supporting roles. The film is slated for Summer release.

    Baahubali: The Conclusion made it to the top 12 in the list and is the only Indian film to do so.     ‘Baahubali 2’ top trending search query on Google in 2017

    Entertainment continued to fuel India’s Search momentum in 2017 with ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ topping Google’s trending charts and six other bollywood movies featuring among the ‘Top 10 Trending’ queries this year, Google said on Wednesday.

    Bollywood and cricket remained the top two themes that ruled the charts, acccoding to Google India 2017 Year in Search results.

    “After breaking several records at the Box office, India’s most expensive movie also broke the language boundaries attracting humongous search interest from movie buffs across the nation,” the search giant said.

    Baahubali 2: The Conclusion was followed by searches around Indian Premier League and searches on ‘Live Cricket Score’. Also making it to the Top 10 list were Bollywood blockbusters Dangal and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.

    Among the top trending songs this year, “Hawa Hawa” from the Arjun Kapoor starrer “Mubarakan” held the top spot on the charts, followed by sufi track “Mere Rashke Qamar” originally sung by legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and recreated by vocalist Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

    Songs like “Despacito” and Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” also featured in the top trending tracks.

    Sunny Leone once again featured among the top entertainers this year, followed by Big Boss entrant Arshi Khan, Sapna Choudhary and YouTube singing sensation Vidya Vox.

    “CBSE results, UP elections, Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Budget featured among the trending news events that witnessed huge interest among Indian users,” Google said.

    Indian users were also interested when it came to knowing more about Bitcoin prices or expressing interest about ransomware. India’s historic win at the Miss World ceremony generated much traffic which catapulted Manushi Chhillar to fame.

    Among the top ‘What is’ queries this year, GST, Bitcoin, Jallikattu and BS3 vehicle remained the most trending themes.

    Other topics like how-to set of queries saw users seeking answers to a range of subjects from ‘How to link aadhaar with PAN card’ to buying Jio phone to removing Holi colour from the face!

    SS Rajamouli created a huge sensation with the franchise of Baahubali which released as Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion.     Filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion” celebrates its 50th day of run in cinemas on Friday. The film is still running to packed houses in over 1,000 screens in the country.

    In an official poster released by the makers, it has been mentioned that the film celebrates its 50th day run in 1,050 screens across the country.

    Having amassed over Rs 2,000 crore worldwide and still counting, “Baahubali 2” has crushed box office records by Indian films.

    Across several regions in the country, “Baahubali 2” has set new records at the ticket window.

    Starring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati as the male protagonists, the film’s story is about the battle for the ownership of an ancient kingdom between two brothers.

    The film, released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam, also stars Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia and Sathyaraj.

    The maverick film produced by Telugu film industry, Baahubali 2, has finally completed the whitewash of all other film industries in the country.

    It didn’t take long for Baahubali 2 to emerge the industry hit in the Telugu states and Karnataka.     By going past the 70 crore gross collection record set earlier by Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s ‘Pulimurugan’, Baahubali 2 emerged the new biggest grosser in Kerala. With this feat, the Prabhas and Anushka starrer VFX extravaganza has become the highest grosser in all notable film industries in India.

    Baahubali 2 is nearing 50 days mark but it still is raking in substantial share to stay alive in good number of theatres. With China release at the corner, Baahubali 2 is roaring to go past the worldwide record set by Dangal.

    Aamir Khan’s blockbuster ‘Dangal’ is creating history at the Chinese box office. The film’s total collections in China stands at a whopping $151.86 Million (979.50 Crores) by yesterday. The biographical sports drama will cross the magical 1000 crore mark today. Let alone trade experts or movie lovers, not even Aamir would have though in his wildest imaginations that his film would conquer this monumental feat.

    With an unbelievable overseas business of 1213.50 crores (1000 crore from China alone), Dangal’s worldwide collection is a mammoth 1755 crore. Thanks to the unprecedented adulation of Chinese, Dangal has comfortably surpassed Baahubali 2, which still holds all possible box office record if we exclude China market.

    Baahubali: The Conclusion to release in July in China

    Baahubali: The Conclusion is the first Indian film to cross Rs 1500 crores worldwide and the movie has been still adding money even in its box-office run. The film released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam on April 28th. With the English version getting ready, the stupendous success of Dangal in China made the makers proceed further with the Chinese version of Baahubali: The Conclusion. The movie will hit the screens during July in China in record number of screens informed a source from the production house.

    The news is that before Arka Media Works took a call about the release of Baahubali: The Conclusion in China, many leading distributors from the country approached the production house for the film’s release at the earliest. This SS Rajamouli’s directorial has been carrying huge buzz in China and the stupendous success of Dangal will sure add a huge advantage for the movie. Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Anushka played the lead roles in Baahubali: The Conclusion. Besides Chinese, the makers are in plans to release Baahubali: The Conclusion in Korean and Japanese along with English languages.

    Hope Rs 1,500 cr films augur well for industry: ‘Baahubali’ producer

    Producer Shobu Yarlagadda, the man behind the “Baahubali” film franchise, on Monday hoped the success of “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion” and “Dangal”, which has opened newer markets, works in favour of the industry.

    “Two movies have done back to back business of Rs 1,500 crore worldwide, opening up new markets! This hopefully augurs well for our industry,” Shobu tweeted.

    Both “Dangal” and “Baahubali 2” have minted over Rs 1,500 crore and are continuing their golden run at the box office.

    Although “Dangal” hit Indian screens last year, it released in China earlier this month, stirring up a box office storm.

    Quoting a line from Paulo Coelho’s “The Alchemist”, he said: “Everything that happens once can never happen again. But everything that happens twice will surely happen a third time.”

    Shobu could be indirectly talking about the much awaited superstar Rajinikanth’s “2.o”, which is reportedly being made on a lavish budget of over Rs 400 crore.
