Can Surender Reddy find a replacement for AR Rahman ?

It is a little disconcerting for Surender Reddy and his team after AR Rahman officially announced that he is unavailable for Megastar Chiranjeevi’s SyeRaa Narasimha Reddy. The Oscar winning composer’s exit is a double whammy for team SyeRaa as they already suffered a setback after popular cinematographer Ravi Varman walked out of the project due to delay in the start. However, they brought Ratnavelu on board as replacement.

As the film is made as a multilingual project with a grand canvas involving an ensemble cast and a whopping budget, renowned technicians like AR Rahman and Ravi Varman would easily give SyeRaa a nationwide attention. But their sudden exit has left Surender Reddy in a spot of bother.

Now, the question is whether team SyeRaa can find a suitable replacement for AR Rahman who could do justice to this magnum opus.

Though SS Thaman’s name is widely speculated as replacement for AR Rahman, it is yet to be known whether Surender Reddy has locked him or is he looking for other alternatives.

Ahead of his music concert in Hyderabad which marks his 25 years as music composer, maestro AR Rahman made a surprise announcement during his interview with ‘The Hindu’ news daily.

The Oscar winning composer revealed that he has backed out from Megastar Chiranjeevi’s highly anticipated film SyeRaa Narasimha Reddy due to other commitments .Rahman said Chiranjeevi is a great actor and SyeRaa has a wonderful script, but he couldn’t make himself available as he is occupied with few others projects for which he committed before SyeRaa.

So, with AR Rahman ending all the ongoing speculations in media, it is clear that the makers are on the lookout for his replacement. This development comes as a huge setback for SyeRaa makers as they have already deferred the shoot due to the exit of cinematographer Ravi Varman.

After pulling a casting coup of sorts with some crazy actors in India brought on board, the makers of Uyyalawada biopic are continuing to rope in some more prominent faces for important roles.

The latest addition to the long list of artists in this film is popular Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan who is known for his roles in Race Gurram and Kick 2. Reportedly, Ravi Kishan has immediately signed the dotted line after Surender Reddy approached him with a strong character.

In an interview given to leading daily, Ram charan revealed some interesting facts about these 2 movies. He seems to be ultra confident on both the projects.

About Rangasthalam movie being directed by Sukumar, he told – the film will completely take you into trans and it will be entirely a new world. WE bought costumes in Rajamundry itself to get that local look. Chiranjeevi watched the movie and he is happy about the output. Sukumar is a perfectionist, he added.

On Sye Raa: “After Dhruva released, we went to US for promotions. Then I casually asked director Surender Reddy on his next projects. He told he wants to prepare a story for Chiranjeevi. Immediately I called daddy and at that time he was in discussions with Parchuri brothers regarding Uyyalawada Narasimhareddy story. He asked Surender to meet him personally. Then the project went into his hands. He made lot of changes to the script to make it even more interesting”. But Charan revealed that, after Sye Raa, he will not produce films for some time and fully focus on acting career.

Rangasthalam is slated for March’2018 release and Sye Raa shoot will start in December’2017.

The life history of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, one of the India’s earliest freedom fighters who hails from Kurnool land, is all set to be made as a feature film with Megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead role. Titled as Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, the film will be helmed by Surender Reddy under the production of Ram Charan’s Konidela Productions.

SyeRaa will have a star-studded cast which includes Amithab Bachchan, Kicha Sudeep, Vijay Sethupathi and Prakash Raj in important roles. According to the latest update from SyeRaa team members, noted Telugu character artist Brahmaji has been roped in for a crucial role in this period drama. It is heard that Brahmaji got a substantial role on par with other noted artists in the film and he signed the dotted line immediately.

As reported earlier, Amithab Bachchan will be playing the role of Chiru’s guru in this film.

The regular shooting will commence in December. Nayanatara is the film’s leading lady. AR Rahman will compose the tunes.

Megastar Chiranjeevi is quite keen and focused on his next film Syeraa which is planned to be the costliest ever film in his career. Surendar Reddy will direct the film and the regular shoot of Syeraa will kick-start on December 6th in Hyderabad. The entire cast, crew will participate in the shoot which has been planned to take place for ten days. Chiranjeevi and his team will check the output along with the looks of the entire cast and will take a call about the next schedule.

If Megastar and his team is not satisfied with the output, they are in plans to re-shoot the entire episodes. The looks of the actors too will be updated for the next schedule if they don’t seem satisfactory. An UK based choreographer has been in talks for Syeraa and he will work for the film. For the episodes which involve Britishers, a team of 150 junior artists are being imported from England and some of them are in talks from North India.

Megastar on the whole is leaving no stone unturned for the prestigious project which has been planned in multiple languages. Konidela Production Company is bankrolling the film.

In a shocking news, a robbery took place in the residence of Mega Star and actor Chiranjeevi. The server Chennayya robbed around 2 lakh rupees were stolen from the residence and later somehow managed to escape from the home.

Mega Star’s manager Gangadhar has filed a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police officials. The officials have taken Chennayya into custody and started the process of investigation. It seems that Chennayya is working at Chiranjeevi’s home from quite sometime.

Kannada Actor Upendra is known to Telugu audience as well with his performance in movies like Kanyadanam, S/o Satyamurthy etc. In fact a couple of decades back, his Kannada dubbed movies like “A” and “Upendra” ran for 100 days in Telugu. He recently launched new political Party Karnataka Pragnavantha Janatha Paksha. Upendra claimed that his party would reflect the aspirations of the workers and downtrodden. Also told, he will focus on basic things like education, health and insurance for all. So far Upendra has some positive buzz in Karnataka. But of course, positive buzz, media attention etc are not sufficient to make a mark in politics.

In his first interaction with the press, he was asked a question by a reporter that – “though film actors like MGR are successful, there are failure stories like Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan, Did you think of them before launching the party?”. This was the question reporter put. Obviously reporter did not do his full home work. Though Chiranjeevi and Vijaykanth contested in polls and failed, Pawan Kalyan so far did not contested and he only campaigned in 2014 polls and the parties for which he campaigned got victory in 2014 elections. However, Upendra replied to this question in an interesting way. Without talking on either successes or failures of others, he told – “I dont want to become MGR, Chiranjeevi or Pawan. I just want to be myself, Upendra”. There was thunderous response from the crowd for his answer.

Rajashekar is currently doing Garudavega movie in the direction of Praveen Sattaru who delivered successful as well as sensible movies. This movie is touted to be the highest budget movie in the career of Rajashekar till date. Moreover there have been rumours that Rajashekar himself also invested some money in this movie. Recently he went and met Chiranjeevi and invited him for premier show of the movie.

During the promotion of the movie, he was asked this question – Are you ready to play negative roles? For this, he replied, “Yes. Even if ‘Garuda Vega’ becomes a big hit, I will be ready. I am looking to do roles like the one played by Arvind Swamy in ‘Dhruva’. I wanted to act with Chiranjeevi garu and Ram Charan. It’s always easy to play a villain. A hero has to cry beautifully. But a villain need not look handsome. He can do anything by making his face dirty and yet he will be liked.”

Earlier, in lot of interviews he used to criticize chiranjeevi vehemently. It all started during Chiranjeevi’s Tagore movie. He wanted to remake Ramana movie into Telugu but when Chiranjeevi’s team approached Ramana makers with fancy offer, obviously they gave the rights to Chiranjeevi’s team. So, Rajashekar was hurt and showed that hatred when Chiranjeevi plunged into politics. In fact during 2008-12, in almost every interview he used to make some scathing comments on Chiranjeevi. In fact the Rajashekar Jeevitha couple made strong allegations on Chiranjeevi blood bank too.

But now things are changed. To be precise, things got changed since they exited YSRCP after Jagan showed them door. Though they tried to join TDP, CBN kept them at Bay. Now he has been chanting the names of mega family in recent times. It seems he is extending olive branch only because he needs the support now. His previous movie Gaddam gang had Nagababu in some important role and during the release of that movie itself he met Chiranjeevi through Nagababu. Now he went a step ahead and invited Chiranjeevi for premier show.
