Jagan is more worried about politics in neighbouring State, says Butchiah Chowdary

0

Farming community in the State is suffering heavily due to the irresponsibility and inefficiency of the State Government and Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, appears to be more worried about the political developments in the neighbouring State of Telangana than the effect of the Mig Jam cyclone on the farmers in the State, observed TDP politburo member and MLA, Gornatla Butchaiah Chowdary, on Monday.

The ruling party has no minimum responsibility to come to the rescue of the farmers when floods and cyclones are causing damage to the State and even when the State is reeling under severe drought conditions, Butchaiah Chowadary told media persons at the party headquarters here. The spineless Chief Minister started feeling shaky after the latest political developments in the neighbouring State of Telangana, he added.

Making it clear that the Chief Minister is responsible for the damage to be caused for the lives and property by the Mig Jam cyclone, the TDP MLA asked as to why the State Government has not initiated any preventive measures to check the damage to the crop despite knowing pretty well that severe cyclonic storm is going to hit the State. Even tarpaulins have not been supplied to the farmers to prevent their grain from getting it moisturised.

Regretting that tractors and other necessary infrastructure is not available to procure grain, Butchaiah Chowdary asked whether the Government feels that its responsibility is over after releasing funds for the cyclone-hit areas. During the TDP regime when the cyclones and other disasters hit the State, the then chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu, personally visited the area and conducted periodical review meetings with the local officials, he stated.

If the Chief Minister is inefficient, the officials need not lose their efficiency and they can always take necessary measures to overcome the situation, Butchaiah Chowdary felt. Without taking any measures to save the farmers from the drought conditions, the Chief Minister has played a big drama in the name of Nagarjuna Sagar dam, the TDP politburo member remarked.

Butchaiah Chowdary felt that the people in the State are suffering a lot due to the failure of the law-and-order situation and said that the officials, particularly in the police wing, should mend their ways at least now.

Avinash case is a never-ending story, says Gorantla

0

Former minister and TDP senior leader, Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, on Wednesday said that Kadapa MP Y S Avinash Reddy’s case is a never-ending story. It takes turns whenever chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy visits Delhi, he said.

Butchaiah Chowdary interacted with the media persons in Rajamahendravaram to thank the people and the party workers for making the two-day Mahanadu a grand success. He said that the victory march of the TDP had started at Mahanadu. The next Mahanadu would be held with the TDP in the government, he asserted.

The former minister said that there is greater applause from the cross sections of the society for the mini manifesto declared by party president N Chandrababu Naidu at the Mahanadu. People are waiting to see the full manifesto, which would be ready by Dasara, this year, he said.

Butchaiah Chowdary also said that people were waiting to throw Jagan Mohan Reddy out of power. He said that the people were disgusted with the criminal politics of Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party leaders.

People want development and that is possible only with Chandrababu Naidu in power, he said, reiterating that people were regretting having voted for Jagan Mohan Reddy in the 2019 general election. Had there been continuation in governance, the state would have been in the top position in the country, Butchaiah Chowdary asserted.

He said that the YSR Congress leaders were moving around with the help and protection from the police. Can any of the YSRCP leaders come out without the police security, he said and added that the people in the state were ready to beat them for the corruption and criminal politics being implemented by the ruling party.

Jagan acting like dictator, says Butchaiah Chowadary

0

Telugu Desam Party politburo member and MLA, Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, on Tuesday came down heavily on the State Government for bringing in a GO which he termed as a new year gift that deprives the people of their democratic rights.

Butchaiah Chowadary told media persons at the party headquarters here that the GO No-1 has been issued on the provisions of the 1861 Police Act implemented by the then Britishers, which are totally outdated.

The GO No-1 is a classic example that Jagan turned as a murderer of the democracy and it once again proved his dictatorial mentality, he said. The Chief Minister did not learn a lesson though the Press Council of India (PCI) has pulled him up when he issued a similar GO No-2430, the TDP politburo member stated.

Asserting that Jagan Reddy is trying to stifle the voice of the Opposition as he is unable to digest the enormous response to the meetings of TDP supremo, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, he felt that by issuing such GOs Jagan is only making efforts to cover up his failures and the growing anti-incumbency.

The MLA asked whether the State government will provide enough security to the meetings of Chandrababu Naidu as per 304(2) and 304(10) of the Standing Orders of the Police Manual. “Till now people are under the impression that Jagan is taking shelter behind the curtains and barricades but now it is understood that he is taking shelter behind the GOs too,” Butchaiah Chowdary remarked.

Making it clear that the TDP will wage a war to decide on the public domain whether the Chief Minister has the right to take away the fundamental rights of the people through such GOs, he asked whether the same norms mentioned in the GO No-1 are applicable to the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues also.

Observing that the days are numbered for Jagan to remain in power, Butchaiah Chowdary demanded that the GO No-1 be withdrawn immediately as he is murdering the democracy with such steps.

Jagan’s style of functioning is really disgusting, says TDP MLA

0

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA, Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, on Wednesday said that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is doing all kinds of favours to his own community and his style of functioning is really disgusting.

Talking to media persons, Butchaiah Chowdary said Home Minister, Taneti Vanitha, in a written reply to question no 12637, herself admitted on the floor of the Assembly on March 10, 2022 that former chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu, did not do any injustice to any particular community in giving promotions to police officers as DSPs. Thus, the allegations made against Chandrababu are totally baseless and this was proved on the floor of the House itself, he said.

Jagan should immediately step down as the Chief Minister taking moral responsibility for this, Chowdary stated. The Jagan government is suppressing the downtrodden sections of society and the recent promotions as DSPs proved this beyond doubt, he added.

Of the 53 DSPs who were given postings, 25 percent of them belong to a particular community and the officers posted in North Andhra belong to the same community, he pointed out. There is no single officer belonging to Kapu community while no officer belonging to either Backward Classes community or to the Scheduled Castes was posted in any urban area, he added.

Maintaining that a DSP-level officer holds very key position in the police department, Butchaiah Chowdary said that Y Harnath Reddy, who is posted as Tekkali DSP, is facing several charges and he was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). The same DSP amassed huge wealth and properties in Kurnool, Kadapa, Anantapur and Bengaluru, he said, adding that he was given the plum post as he helped the ruling party in the last elections.

Farming community losing heavily due to Jagan’s policies, says Gorantla

0

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA, Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, on Monday said that the farming community in the State is suffering a lot due to the faulty policies of the State Government. Farmers have been suffering a lot as the dues for their products last year have not been cleared yet, Butchaih Chowadry said.

Talking to media persons, the TDP MLA felt an immediate need to discontinue the conditions laid down in the new farm policy as they are in no way helpful to the farming community. Either the Minimum Support Price is being implemented properly or compensation is being paid to the farmers for the crop loss due to natural calamities, he said.

“The State occupied the third position in the country in farmers suicides and in the first place in farmers debts. The agriculturists are facing severe problems in selling their farm products due to the new conditions,” Butchaiah Chowadary maintained.

When Chandrababu Naidu was the chief minister of the State the dues to the farmers for selling their products were paid within a week, he said. But after Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power even after months the dues are still pending, he added.

Butchaiah Chowadary said that the Rythu Bharosa Centres have turned into YSRCP corrupt centres as the farm products are purchased only on recommendations from the ruling party leaders. At least now, the administration should take necessary measures to ensure that the farm products are purchased from all the farmers and the amount is paid on time, he said.

Also, the shortage of gunny bags is haunting the rice millers following which the rice-millers are not coming forward to purchase the grain, he said and wanted the government to direct the departments concerned to take the immediate remedial measures and bail out the farming community. Butchaih Chowdary also demanded that the long-pending dues to the farmers be cleared immediately.

Who won in Butchaiah-Chandrababu spat?

1

Who has won in the Butchaiah Chowdary vs Chandrababu Naidu fight within the Telugu Desam? While Butchaiah is trying to make it out as if he had given an earful to Chandrababu on the internal goings on in the TDP, the reality looks otherwise. Butchaiah Chowdary has ended up achieving literally nothing and Chandrababu has only emerged stronger in the whole episode.

After meeting Chandrababu, Butchaiah has said that he was taking back the idea of resigning from the TDP. He also categorically said that there was no question of his joining any other party. One of his main complaint was that Lokesh Babu did not respond to his phone calls. He seemed to have got no assurance from either Chandrababu or Lokesh on this count. What more? He did not even get to meet Lokesh Babu. This only means that his gap with Lokesh will continue.

Secondly, he had said that there were major errors in terms of social equations and caste balance in the organisational appointments. Despite weeks of his protest and his 20-minute meeting with Chandrababu, there have been no changes in any of the appointment. By saying that his concerns were not limited to Rajahmundry, he has literally admitted that there is no change in the status quo in Rajahmundry politics. His disputes with Adireddy family will continue and that Chandrababu has not yielded an inch on this count.

Who is the biggest loser now? The biggest loser now is all those who stood by Butchaiah Chowdary. These leaders will now be targeted and they would be made to pay for their indiscretion. In future, these leaders would think twice before backing Butchaiah Chowdary. His comments on NTR’s leadership have also failed to achieve anything.

Storm in TDP blows over as Butchaiah meet Babu

0

The ruckus in the TDP over senior MLA and founder member Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary’s defiance has ended with party supremo Chandrababu Naidu having an hour-long one-on-one with Butchaiah. During the meeting Butchaiah has told about his concerns about the loyal party workers being sidelined in the party. Butchaiah appeared satisfied that Chandrababu gave him a patient listening. The storm in the TDP cup seems to have blown over.

On his own admission, Butchaiah has raised the issue of loyal party workers being ignored in the party and turncoats taking prime positions. He told Chandrababu about the problems he is facing in Rajahmundry. She raised the issue of how he was made to shift to Rajahmundry rural seat instead of his traditional borough of Rajahmundry urban. He said this was done to help the defectors, who joined the party recently. Butchaiah further said that several of the loyal and hardcore party workers were suffering due to the oppressive policies of the YSRCP government.

Butchaiah was accompanied by senior party leaders Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy, Gadde Rammohan and Nimmakayala China Rajappa. Later, he met Chandrababu and both the leaders were closeted for over one hour. Chandrababu reportedly gave him a patient hearing. Later, Butchaiah appeared quite satisfied.

Butchaiah has threatened to resign from the party and from his MLA post and gave a deadline of August 25. Meanwhile, he fell ill and had to be admitted in the hospital. Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu had a telephonic talk for some 20 minutes with Butchaiah. Later senior leaders Chinarajappa and others met him and discussed his grievances. Later, Butchaiah agreed to meet Chandrababu Naidu.

Is this the real reason for Butchaiah’s anger?

1

Senior TDP MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary is angry and sullen. He has suddenly raised a banner of revolt and began speaking against the party line. He has gone to the extent of inviting Junior NTR to come and save the party. But, what is the real reason for his sudden anger? Why is he suddenly so upset? His rivalry with Adireddy Appa Rao is an old story and does not require him to think of resigning from the party.

Sources close to Butchaiah say that there is another reason why Butchaiah is upset. They say that he is upset at being ignored in the party. Though a six-time MLA, who has been associated with the party from the time of its inception, he always felt that the party leadership did not recognize him. He always felt that he was not given his due. He is said to have told his close associates that neither his sincerity nor his seniority was being respected.

But the real reason, according to insiders, is quite different. Butchaiah is unhappy at party MLA Payyavula Keshav getting another extension as the chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee. Keshav has been given the position as the chief of the PAC. The position is always given to a leader from the opposition and party chief nominates a person of his choice for the coveted post. Butchaiah feels that once the term of Keshav ended, he should have got the post by virtue of his loyalty to the party and his seniority in the party. However, Chandrababu Naidu has re-appointed Keshav. Upset by this, Butchaiah is said to have raised his voice against the party and Chandrababu, sources say.

TDP insiders say that Butchaiah knows that the four MLAs who had left the party and joined the YSRCP after 2019 are going through a harrowing time as Jagan has completely sidelined them. At the same time, Butchaiah, who has always been known for his anti-Congress politics, can never adjust himself in the YSRCP. So, Butchaiah is only demonstrating his disappointment and anger over the party leader ignoring his claim.

Butchaiah reportedly nursed a grievance against Chandrababu Naidu. In fact, he was one of the few loyalists of NTR when Chandrababu Naidu revolted and dethroned him in the August coup of1994. Butchiah had also joined the Harikrishna-Lakshmiparvathi led NTR-Telugu Desam and lost the elections. Later, he rejoined the TDP. But, he always felt that he was sidelined because of his loyalty to NTR.
