Caste census plan is part of Jagan’s political conspiracy, says Kalva Srinivasulu

0

The caste census of the Backward Classes (BCs) is nothing but part of a political conspiracy of Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, for electoral gains, opined TDP politburo member and former minister, Kalva Srinivasulu, on Tuesday.

Srinivasulu appealed to the BCs in the State not to fall victim to this political conspiracy by reposing faith in Jagan. Talking to media persons here, the TDP politburo member asked Jagan as to why he has not mounted pressure on the Centre all these years if at all if he is serious on working for the welfare of BCs.

At least Jagan would have asked his party MPs to raise the caste census issue on the floor of Parliament, he felt. Not raising the issue on any platform all these years and without asking those concerned with this, bringing the matter onto the scene suddenly is the best example for his political opportunism, Srinivasulu observed.

How Jagan, who is responsible for the killing of 76 innocent BC leaders and sending thousands of those belonging to the community to jail by filing false cases, can be expected to do justice to BCs, Srinivasulu asked. Pointing out that 253 commissions have already recommended for caste census als=ong with population census while the TDP government headed by then chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, too has recommended to the Centre for caste census in 2014 itself, Srinivasulu said that but till now there is no response from the Centre.

This delay has resulted in great injustice to the BCs who comprise more than 50 per cent of the State population, he said. The weaker sections could not benefit more than 27 per cent in education and employment, the TDP politburo member felt.

Srinivasulu reaffirmed that Jagan is going home after the upcoming elections and against this backdrop he is now resorting to cheap politics in the name of caste census only to cheat the BCs. “If Jagan is really serious about the census, why should he change the dates of the exercise to be taken up,” he asked.

While gathering information in the name of caste census, those who are involved in the exercise are taking the thumb impressions of the people and are asking for even the One Time Passwords (OTPs), he said. Is this not a political conspiracy to gain certain benefits in the coming elections, the former minister felt.

“The BCs should not fall victim to this political conspiracy and soon after the TDP-Jana Sena government is into power all the necessary steps will be taken for the welfare of all these communities,” Srinivasulu observed.

TDP former minister Kalva under house arrest

2

The AP police kept TDP former minister Kalva Srinivasulu under house arrest in Rayadurgam town of Anantapur district. The police closed all roads leading to his house as he tried to hold padayatra in the town in protest against the illegal mining of sand.

The TDP former minister accused the ruling YSR Congress of encouraging sand smuggling and illegal quarrying. He said that the construction activity in the state had come to stand still with the inapt handling of the sand mining by the YSR Congress government.

On the contrary, the ruling YSR Congress leaders were indulging in illegal mining and export of sand to the neighbouring states, while the people in the state were suffering for non-availability of sand. He said that thousands of construction workers and hundreds of building owners were made to suffer as sand is not available in the open market.

Dozens of police reached the former minister’s house early in the morning to stop him from taking out the padayatra. The police also arrested several of the TDP leaders and the party mandal unit presidents, who extended support to Kalva Srinivasulu.

As the police were guarding his house, the former minister came out of his house from the backdoor and reached the road giving a slip to the police. The police who saw the former minister on the road, blocked his movement and did not allow him to move.

The TDP leaders condemned the police for stopping their protest and keeping them under house arrest. The former minister said that the police who could not stop illegal mining of sand and who could not take action against the sand smugglers have stopped the TDP leaders from holding protests.

Jagan’s inefficiency in housing got exposed in Parliament, says Kalava Srinivasulu

0

The inefficiency of the State government and the incompetence of Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is thoroughly exposed on the floor of Parliament, said former minister and politburo member of the TDP, Kalava Srinivasulu, here on Wednesday.

Addressing the media persons through Zoom Srinivasulu said that the Central Government on the floor of Parliament exposed Jagan’s inefficiency stating that with much difficulty could construct only five houses in three-and-half years. ” Jagan Reddy, who boasted himself that he will build houses for all the homeless in the State without any burden on them could complete only five houses till now,” he said.

The Chief Minister made the innocent people believe that he would really construct 25 lakh houses for them and even to those who do not have any house-sites, Srinivasulu said and stated that this is nothing but cheating the people. Stating that as per the promise made to the people, Jagan should construct at least 18 lakh units in three years, the former minister said that the Union Government thoroughly exposed Jagan’s failure.

There is no comparison between the promise made by Jagan and the ground reality, Srinivasulu said and stated that Jagan will never be able to fulfil his promise. The Chief Minister does not want to realise the dream of the homeless to have a shelter of their own, he maintained.

“In fact, the Chief Minister cannot relish the fact of a poor man owning his own house. He never thinks of building a house for the poor,” Srinivasulu remarked. Even in backward States like Bihar, 16 lakhs to 17 lakh houses were constructed for the poor in a matter of three years but in Andhra Pradesh only five houses were built, he stated.

He said that even the financial assistance for building houses has been reduced after Jagan came to power. “When Chandarbabu Naidu was the chief minister, each unit was given a financial assistance of Rs 1.50 lakh, but Jagan brought it down to Rs 30,000,” he added. The State’s share in the housing scheme is almost nothing, he stated.

Srinivasulu said that in the name of the housing scheme Jagan Reddy opened the gates for a huge scam worth hundreds of crores as the ruling YSRCP leaders are resorting to real estate business in the lands acquired to build houses for the poor. Also, at some places lands which are not fit for constructing houses were deliberately selected only to fill their pockets, he maintained.

The TDP politburo member said that his party is ready to thoroughly expose the misdeeds of the ruling YSRCP leaders. The Minister for Housing is not aware of anything about his portfolio but is ready to level baseless allegations against the TDP, Srinivasulu added.

The official figures clearly indicate that Rs 11,414 cr was spent on housing during the TDP regime, he said and stated that Chandrababu realised the dream of the poor to have their own shelter. “But Jagan is only taking revenge on the homeless,” Srinivasulu remarked.

Jagan’s three capitals is to cover up his failures, says Kalva Srinivasulu

Rayalaseema has been suffering the worst-ever crisis in the past three-and-half years and the region has never experienced such damage ever since the State has been formed, observed Telugu Desam Party (TDP) politburo member, Kalva Srinivasulu, here on Wednesday.

Srinivasulu told media persons at the party headquarters here that there is zero progress in Rayalaseema after Jagan Mohan Reddy, has become the Chief Minister of the State. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s discrimination and hatred towards the region is clearly visible with his attitude towards Rayalaseema, Srinivasulu added,

During the TDP regime, Chandrababu Naidu, as the chief minister of the State strived hard for the progress of Rayalaseema and the globally-renowned Kia industry had set up its unit in Anantapur district then. Companies like Hero Motors and Celkon too have established their units in Chittoor district while renowned educational institutions like IIIT and Central University too were established in Rayalaseema when Chandrababu was the chief minister of the State, he maintained.

Except for using the backwardness of Rayalaseema for political gains, did Jagan get even a single industry to the region, he asked. The Handri-Neeva and the Galeru-Nagari projects which were constructed when the late, NT Rama Rao, was the chief minister, have now turned as a boon for the region, he observed.

The credit of getting the Krishna river waters for Rayalaseema goes only to N T Rama Rao and to Chandrababu Naidu, he added. Not only this. Several other projects have been built during the TDP regime while all the irrigation project works came to a standstill after Mr Jagan came to power, Srinivasulu stated.

Observing that there is no development in the State in the past three-and-half years, Srinivasulu said that there are no employment opportunities for the youth and no minimum support price for the farm products.

The rallies taken out by the YSRCP leader, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, will in no way help to get the High Court bench for Rayalaseema, he said and felt that the YSRCP MPs should mount pressure on the Centre. Jagan is just taking the people of the State for a ride by making false promises, he added.

Srinivasulu made it clear that the TDP will make every effort to bring all sections of the people onto a common platform to fight for the rights of the people of Rayalaseema and to put an end to the atrocities of the YSRCP leaders.

YSRCP leaders looting AP, says Kalva Srinivasulu

0

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) politburo member and former minister, Kalva Srinivasulu, on Wednesday came down heavily on YSRCP saying that the ruling party leaders are looting the natural resources in the State for the past three years.

Srinivasulu told media persons at the party headquarters here that costly minerals like granite are being illegally grabbed in Rayalaseema region under the directions of none other the Cabinet Minister, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy. Even qualified businessmen in mining are not allowed to enter this business by the YSRCP leaders, he added.

The former minister said that the iron ore mines in 25 hectares near H Siddapuram Tanda on the border of Obulapuram village, closer to Bellary on the border district of Ananthapur are allotted to Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC) through a gazette notification. Later, a private contractor from Telangana was allotted these mines through the APMDC, he said.

“Had the iron ore mines been allocated to Kadapa Steel Plant they would have been diverted to captive mining in the name of the same steel plant,” he said. But through APMDC, a major contractor from AMR Company grabbed this and an agreement has already been entered into, Srinivasulu stated.

The YSRCP leaders are almost ruling the roost in the mining sector, including sand, the TDP politburo member remarked and expressed serious concern that there is no one to stop this looting as a Minister’s hand is suspected in this. The former minister termed this as the part-II of Obulapuram mining scam.

The TDP wants to know as to why there is absolutely no Government supervision on this, he said and asked as to why the iron ore mines are not allotted to Kadapa Steel Plant under captive mining. Srinivasulu said that the whole treasure is being diverted through backdoor and the latest gazette notification corroborates this.

The TDP, with the support of the locals, will soon launch an agitation to bring an end to this robbery, as it is the primary responsibility of every citizen to ensure that the local treasures are not subjected to looting, Srinivasulu said. A petitioner has filed a complaint before the Raidurgam court that the iron ore stocks seized by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) were later sold illegally and this happened after Jagan Mohan Reddy became the Chief Minister, he said. Any material seized by the CBI cannot be illegally marketed unless some top persons are involved in it, he observed and suspected the hand of the Raidurgam MLA, Kapu Ramachandra Reddy’s, hand in it.

The TDP demands that this kind of looting of public property be stopped immediately, he said and added that the TDP will stand by those who join this war against robbery. The State Government should take urgent measures to put an end to this, he added.
