Actor Manchu Manoj has penned an emotional birthday post for his sister, actress Lakshmi Manchu, who celebrates her birthday on Saturday.

Taking to Instagram, actor Manchu Manoj wrote: “Happy Birthday to my life Lakshmi Manchua akka. So proud of all the great work you are doing.”

He said further: “Proud to be your brother always and thanks for always being there for me as a mother and best friend. Wishing you the best of everything akka. God bless you Shambo (sic).”

Lakshmi Manchu responded to her brother’s birthday wish saying: “Yipeee… Here’s to living life, full of fun, love, peace and adventure. Love you Manu.”

Actress Rakul Preet Singh too was among the many who wished actress Lakshmi Manchu on her birthday.

On Instagram, Rakul wrote: “Happiest happiest birthday to my soul sista. You are unapologetic, liberated, kindest and beautiful inside out (sic).”

“Always stay the way you are HRH. You know I love you and though we aren’t celebrating together this year, here is a birthday memory we will never forget. Miss ya and have a great year Lakshmi Manchu”, Rakul added.

‘My joy knows no bounds’: Lakshmi Manchu on her first movie with dad Mohan Babu

Lakshmi Manchu, who is all set for her Malayalam debut with ‘Monster’, will be next seen alongside her dad Mohan Babu in an upcoming movie.

As this movie will mark the first time collaboration of Lakshmi with her father, renowned Telugu actor Mohan Babu, she is elated.

The film, which is being jointly produced by Sri Lakshmiprasanna Pictures and Manchu Entertainment, has completed a formal pooja, as a part of its launch on February 12 in Hyderabad.

It is reported that Malayalam character artist Siddique is also seen in a lead role. Bollywood director Pratik Prajosh is directing the film, while the story and dialogues are penned by ‘Son Of India’ director Diamond Rathna Babu.

Touted to be a crime thriller, the movie will go on the floors from March, as stated by the director. The makers have made plans to wrap up the shooting in a single schedule.

Lakshmi said, “I’m super excited to be doing my first film with my dad. It’s beyond a dream come true and I’m pinching myself morning, afternoon, and night. Never stop dreaming because you never know when it’ll come true.”

In her statement, she has also conveyed, “Acting in a movie with my first hero, my dad. Sharing the screen for the first time in all these years of me being an artist is like winning an award”.

But until then can we restrain ourselves from being evil and cruel and lynching of person and her entire family without knowing the facts. I can only imagine the pain the entire family is going through with these so-called media trials. If something like this happened to me I would want my colleagues to stand up for me at least the ones that know me to say back off hang on leave her alone and I ask all of you to do the same back off hang on leave her alone until the entire truth is officially released. I am pained by what we have become. How are we being authentic if we don’t speak our heart when we have a voice to lend. I’m standing up for my colleague.”

A couple of flops in the backyard have slowed down actor and producer Manchu Lakshmi from towing Tollywood every year with a bunch of movies. After the 2015 film Dongaata bit dust at the box office, she is not making big films anymore.

Inside reports are that, though she’s not hogging the limelight, she’s making huge money right now. This is through web series route regarding which she is producing back to back 10-episode series. While her Mrs Subbalakshmi hasn’t scored a punch with the digital audience, the actress is said to have made huge profits over it.

A birdie revealed that she has signed two more web series for the same TV channel that brought her content. One of the series is a political drama featuring faded out hero Srikanth in the lead, while other one features Lakshmi herself as the lead. Each of this series is being produced at more than 5 crores budget for 10 episodes, according to insiders.

That way, though Lakshmi failed to get profits from the box office, is making huge through the web route.

Rakul and Manchu Lakshmi go overboard in No 1 Yaari show

Rana Daggubati is hosting the second season of popular Television show ‘No 1 Yaari’, which features Tollywood celebs in each episode. After the first season got a thumping response, the second season turned out to be more personal and informal.

The whole Tollywood is aware of the stir between Bellamkonda Suresh and Manchu family. Bellamkonda Suresh shot for one of his films in a bungalow owned by Manchu Lakshmi. He failed to clear the dues of Rs 25 lakhs and despite of several attempts Manchu family failed to recover the dues. She feels cheated and said that the producer has been investing crores of money on his son and is releasing it through other producers because of which they could not recover the dues.

She said that Rs 23 lakhs is yet to be paid but Manchu Lakshmi did not reveal the name of Bellamkonda Suresh during her interaction. Tollywood circles have been left in shock after Bellamkonda Suresh who has been investing crores on his son decided not to pay a small amount of Rs 25 lakhs. Only time decides if they get cleared or left unpaid. Bellamkonda Sreenivas’ next outing Saakshyam is hitting the screens this Friday.

Tollywood actor Manchu Lakshmi defended Telangana Minister K T Rama Rao’s tweets made against Digvijay Singh. This did not go well with Congress leaders who criticised Lakshmi for her tweet. It may be recalled that Digvijay alleged that influential friends of TRS heir were involved in drug racket. KTR came down heavily on the Congress leader and tweeted, “you complete lost it sir” and advised him to retire from politics. Lakshmi tweeted that “Say it like it is Ram. He’s lost it a long time ago…”
