    Many individuals and politicians are giving their reactions on the NTR Kathanayakudu biopic film. Lakshmi Parvathi has also given her side of remarks. She felt sad she was not invited by anybody so far to watch the movie on its first day. She expressed her displeasure at this and went on to say this biopic could never hold true mirror to NTR’s life as it was made under the actual instructions of Chandrababu Naidu.

    Lakshmi Parvathi is always a strong critic of CBN since the beginning and she had many reservations against the film starring Balakrishna and Vidya Balan. If there is any film that will depict NTR’s life, it will be ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ being directed by Ram Gopal Varma, said Lakshmi Parvathi. It is well known Varma’s film has already triggered many controversies especially on the ‘backstabbing theories’ behind NTR’s removal from power.

    Since the release of NTR Kathanayakudu, there is a lot of hype and widespread attention from fans and movie goers. The film has got good mouth talk and got good openings here and abroad. But Lakshmi Parvathi says all this is not correct and true fans of NTR will not be interested in this film. Everybody gives a little attention to Lakshmi Parvathi’s statements but nobody appears to give a serious thought about them.

    Biopic on legendary actor NTR is one of the eagerly awaited films this year. NTR’s son and actor Balakrishna is portraying the lead role and an array of prominent stars are playing crucial roles in this biopic which is made in two parts. The first part, titled as NTR Kathanayakudu, will trace the inspiring journey of NTR as actor and the second part will highlight his political success.

    Director Krish is the man behind this prestigious project and Balakrishna donned the producer’s hat for the first time. Let’s find out if the first part of NTR biopic is worth the hype and hysteria or not.

    Story:

    The key element for any biopic is picking up the ‘right span of the life’ to narrate. ‘NTR-Kathanayakudu ‘takes off showcasing Legendary actor NTR’s first job as sub-registrar at Vijayawada, swiftly moves on to his quest for cinema roles in Madras. The film ends at announcing historical TeluguDesam party in 1982.  The rise of NTR’s cinema career, circumstances forced him to think about service to society, further incidents which led to announce a political party etc. cover the scope of the film.

    Performances:  

    Balakrishna as NTR has performed well especially as older NTR i.e. 60s age NTR. In few emotional scenes he did good. Entire second half, NBK very much resembles NTR in body language.  However, due to age factor, as young NTR of 20s, balakrishna doesn’t appeal good.  Vidya Balan as NTR’s wife is pretty decent, did justice to her role. Rana, Sumanth and Kalyanram as CBN, ANR, and Harikrishna are good choices as well.  There are many other heroines, character artists’ casting. Prakash Raj, Brahmanandam, Kaikala, Nitya Menen, Rakul Preet Singh, Hansika, Krish, Murali Sharma, Vennela Kishore and many others acted in short roles.

    Technical:

    M M Keeravani, who elevates the emotion of the scene with his background score, at his elements yet again.  Apart from good songs, his background score is appreciable. Next best is Sai Madhav Burra’s dialogues are the ones which standout. Cinematography by Gnansekhar V.S. is good. Production design is decent as well. Editing is patchy, many times popular NTR songs come and go without proper lead. Overall length of the film is 10 – 15 minutes longer which is director/editor combined call.   As producers NBK, Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri spent adequately.

    Analysis:

    Every bit of NTR’s life has been in public domain for decades, familiar to most of the people in Telugu states. In addition, his ‘cine career’ doesn’t have the melodramatic elements as in ‘Mahanati Savitri’ life. The whole spice elements in NTR’s life were after his political entry (which are out of scope of part-1 biopic). Given these factors, it is a challenging task to write an engaging script for NTR’s cine life. Director Krish, writer Sai Madhav still able to come up with enough tribute film – if not a great tribute.

    NTR – Kathanayakudu theme showcases NTR’s rise as a hero, shows incidents influenced his thoughts towards society and finally starting a political party. This 30 + years of his life (1949 to 1982) has been covered touch basing his good qualities – leaving controversial ones aside. Director has been refrained from over-the-top scenes, cinematic elevations and showcased true episodes mostly!

    NTR’s portrayal in Lord Srikrishna role, in venkateswara Swamy role, his commitment towards the career, His eldest son’s death context emotional scene etc. came out well.  However, Balakrishna as young NTR could not manage to coverup the age difference, but is perfectly able to replicate NTR’s body language as older NTR (60s)

    NTR – ANR scenes throughout the film are very nice, it’s been depicted both of them have very friendly relation in cinema life.

    Krish has cleverly inserted few scenes to answer criticism on NTR. At some point, they even mention the stiff competition coming from Young heroes Krishna, Shobhanbabu likes against aging NTR. Also, criticism like ‘60 years old NTR dancing with 16 years aged sridevi etc young heroines ‘, has also been addressed in lighter vien.

    Charity work done by NTR and ANR in Rayalaseema drought, Diviseema cyclone years also has been covered. In second half, director plays to the galleries to certain extent!  It is pleasant to watch when Chandrababu Naidu, Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy were friends

    All in all, this film is a good Déjà vu experience through the life of Legend for his fans and sympathisers.  Also, this film may appeal for those who doesn’t know much about NTR’s cine life. However, current generation youth may complain the film is flat and/or slow, that is due to director Krish did not try to inject cinematic elevations.

    Overall, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Krish and whole team must be appreciated for this gutsy attempt and for not being distortive of facts. First of the film is slow but decent, second half of the film will be completely liked by fans and common audience.

    Positives:

    • Energetic second half, with a powerful climax
    • Balakrishna’s controlled performance as NTR
    • Krish’s sensible direction
    • A great team work by technicians Keeravani, Sai Madhav etc
    • Huge Star Casting

    Negatives:

    • A bit slow first half
    • Balakrishna age mismatch for younger NTR Role

    Verdict:

    NTR-Kathanayakudu is a good tribute to legend’s cine life. It is a rarest occasion and memorable journey for NTR fans of all ages, a decent watch for others as well. Go and Watch this sincere attempt!

    It’s been quite an anticipatory wait to see the life of the legendary NTR unravel on the big screens. Telugu cine buffs have been excited ever since the film was announced and with the film’s release finally taking place on January 9, there’s a great deal of pre-release hungama all over.

    Fans in the US, especially, are feeling the proximity to Telugu cinema like never before courtesy the several promotional videos of Kathanayakudu. The latest is that fans in Detroit inaugurated a statue of NTR to mark the release of the film.

    Not just that, a fan in Seattle purchased the first premiere ticket for $5116, while $1116 was spent by a fan in Detroit for the first premiere ticket. The leading distributor of Indian cinema overseas, US Telugu, is going all out to give the film a grand release, starting from the premieres.

    In fact, the immense pre-release buzz has contributed to the film’s premieres’ pre-sales crossing $300,000 way before release!

    Kathanayakudu sees Balakrishna play the role of his legendary actor-politician father NTR. The film is directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, who collaborated with Balakrishna earlier for the acclaimed film Gautamiputra Satakarni which was also the actor’s 100th film.

    Also starring Vidya Balan as actor NTR’s wife Basavatarakam and several other well-known actors playing key roles as several well-known personalities, the film is touted to be a big screen extravaganza made on a massive scale.

    Mega actor Naga Babu has been making some harsh comments on Nandamuri Balakrishna through his official social media pages. A series of videos released by Naga Babu did not go well with Nandamuri fans. Balakrishna during the promotions of NTR – Kathanayakudu paid his visit to Tirupathi and Balakrishna, Vidya Balan inaugurated the first idol of NTR in PJR theatre.

    During the media interaction, one of the reporter asked Balakrishna about Naga Babu’s comments and Balayya replied saying ‘No comments’. He preferred not to react about this and moved ahead for the next question. NTR – Kathanayakudu directed by Krish is hitting the screens tomorrow.

    Team NTR is currently busy promoting the film all over and the film is hitting the screens all over tomorrow. Nandamuri Balakrishna along with Vidya Balan, Kalyanram, Sumanth, Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri paid their visit to Lord Venkateswara temple, Tirumala today. The team will participate in the promotional activities in Tirupathi and will return back to Hyderabad this evening. The team booked a chartered flight for their Tirupathi visit. Balakrishna is expected to watch NTR – Kathanayakudu with the audience tomorrow in Hyderabad. Krish directed this prestigious biopic.

Vinaya Vidheya Rama is granted permission for two extra shows from January 11th to 19th between 5 AM and 11 AM. Both the films have been carrying massive buzz and are expected to open with a bang.

    The latest promo is from an intense scene which has NTR striving for the self-respect and identity of Telugu people who are labelled as Madrasi by the rest of the country before the separation of the Andhra state from Tamil Nadu. Balayya in NTR’s getup is seen raising the voice for the recognition of Telugus as we have our own identity and culture.     Macho star Rana Daggubhati played the role of Chandra Babu Naidu in the biopic of NTR. Rana’s makeover in the film evoked a stirring response from audience as he looked like a spitting image of CBN. It was indeed a challenging role for Rana to step into the shoes of a character who is alive.

    During the promotions, Rana revealed how he managed to pull off the role with ease. Rana said CBN gave a lot of inputs about his character when Krish and he met him before commencing the shoot. ‘CBN made life better for me in portraying his character with his suggestions, said Rana. He thanked Krish and Balayya for taking him to CBN as interaction with him helped play the character without much difficulty.

    Rana did a lot of homework for CBN’s character and his role is said to be a major highlight for the film. While the first part will highlight NTR’s film journey, the second part showcase the glory of his political career. Directed by Krish, the biopic has Balakrishna as NTR. The first part is slated for release this 9th.

    The prestigious biopic ‘NTR – Kathanayakudu’ has completed the censor formalities and got a clean ‘U’ certificate. The censor talk is very positive about the movie.

    As per the reports, there are many highlights of ‘NTR.’ The first would definitely go to Nandamuri Balakrishna who just did not undergo an incredible transformation but is said to have delivered an outstanding performance.

    Cinematography by Gnana Shekar and production design are touted to be the next highlights. Being a biopic, it has period drama backdrop as well. The film will make the audience travel to the times of 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s.

    Diviseema floods is emotional episode is being talked about. This is where NTR takes a crucial decision about his next stage of life. Then the re-recording by MM Keeravani. NBK’s performance, Gnana Shekar’s visuals, vintages sets are excellently complimented by Keeravani’s background score.

    The artist selection is one more highlight. From the beginning, the makers have revealed key roles being played by prominent actors and they were spot on in the course of the film.

    The last couple of reels which involves episodes of NBK and Vidya Balan are reportedly touching and thus the film might end on a high note. The run of ‘NTR – Kathanayakudu’ is two hours and fifty minutes.

    Last but not least, it’s director Krish Jagarlamudi, who made brilliant effort in bringing NTR’s life back to existence.

    Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Krish who are busy with NTR attended the television show of Rana’s No1 Yaari as special guests. The show was telecasted last night and it is filled with several surprises. Balakrishna re-collected the first day shooting in NTR’s residence in which Rana too was present. Rana lost huge weight and transformed himself as Nara Chandra Babu Naidu for the film.

    Balayya who was busy preparing himself for his role spotted Rana in the new look but could not recognize him. He thought Rana as a trespasser and was surprised to see his team not bothered after a new face entered on the sets. Soon when Krish informed, Balakrishna was left amazed and congratulated Rana for his transformation. Rana thanked Balakrishna and Krish for the wonderful opportunity.

    Advantage NTR biopic after the stupendous trailer release

    From the onset, NTR biopic is ahead of other Sankranthi releases in all aspects. While the sensational posters, that were released from time to time, generated a superb buzz, the recently released stupendous trailer has shot the hype on the biopic out of the roof.

    Director Krish has hit the bulls eye with his perfect planning. He ensured that the trailer is released at the right time after the posters garnered good response from audience. The sensational trailer, which is well packed with all necessary elements, has evoked a terrific response, which is the need of the hour for Sankranthi biggies.

    Multi-starrer film F2 , which features Varun Tej and Venkatesh, is in next line in terms of buzz. The hilarious teaser has drawn the attention of family audience and set the right mood ahead of its release. Ram Charan’s Vinaya Vidheya Rama is lagging behind in terms of promotions and hype. The first look poster and the typical Boyapati mark teaser received only lukewarm response from audience. The two songs rendered by DSP couldn’t excite audience much. So, the onus is now on the theatrical trailer to generate some buzz on the film.

    Super star responds on NTR movie trailer

    Super star Mahesh Babu responded on NTR biopic movie railer and he showered praises on Bala Krishna for his transition into legendary NTR’s role. It is known news that Super Star Krishna, father of Mahesh Babu, attended the audio launch of NTR (Katha nayakudu) movie and revealed audience about his rapport with late NTR. Krishna told that he acted with NTR in movies like – ‘Sthree Janma’, “vichira kutumbam’, ‘Devudu chesina manushulu’ and a few more and in all the movies he acted as younger brother for the legendary actor. Now Mahesh Babu also responded on this movie and he is all praise for Bala Krishna, and entire cast and crew.

    Mahesh Babu tweeted, “First glimpses of #NTRKathanayukudu look stunningly true to life… Goosebumps all through! Transition of Balakrishna garu as NT Rama Rao garu is effortless & incredible. Everything & everybody looks extraordinary in the trailer. Loved it! Best wishes to the entire cast & team of NTR Biopic! Looking forward to watching the film! ”

    Not just Mahesh Babu but almost entire tollywood is appreciating Krish and Bala Krishna for ‘celluloidizing’ the biopic of NTR. We will have to wait and see how the people will receive this movie.

    Balayya’s phone call for Megastar

    Nandamuri Balakrishna during an interview revealed about the bonding he shares with Megastar Chiranjeevi. He called Megastar his closest friend in the industry. Now once again the duo has been in news. Balakrishna is playing the lead role and is producing the prestigious NTR biopic. A grand audio release event of NTR took place last evening in Hyderabad. Families of Nandamuri, Superstar Krishna and Krishnamraju made their presence for the lavish event.

    None of the actors from Mega family attended the grand launch. Nandamuri Balakrishna personally called Megastar Chiranjeevi and invited him for the audio launch but Chiranjeevi could not make it to the event as he is busy with the shoot of Syeraa. Megastar is not in Hyderabad because of which he could not attend the event revealed Mega compound. Balakrishna once again proved that he shares a close bonding with Megastar.
