Gripping and unrealistic, Priyamani’s ‘Bhama Kalapam’ streaming now

0

With Actress Priyamani in the lead role, the murder thriller titled ‘Bhama Kalapam’ is streaming on Aha now.

With not many realistic points, the story is dramatic, as Priyamani shines in the role of a curious lady, who often gets herself into trouble.

‘Bhama Kalapam’ is directed by Abhimanyu Tadimeti, features a murder mystery, which involves an expensive egg, which is stolen from a popular museum.

Priyamani plays the role of Anupama, who is a homemaker and starts a YouTube channel, as her culinary skills are extraordinary. But, her curiosity and habitual peeking into others’ lives create problems, as the apartment community wrongs her.

Anupama lands in a greater mystery, as one day, she decides to slide into a neighbouring house out of curiosity.

The rest of the story is followed by some edge-of-your-seat moments, as multiple people get involved in a crime, taking the lives of a meat merchant, a criminal, a resident of the community.

The screenplay by Abhimanyu is as gripping as the music by Justin Prabhakaran. The racy narrative adds to the intriguing thrill in ‘Bhama Kalapam’. Yet, some scenes lack logic, making the script not so realistic.

Situational comedy adds much entertainment to the mystery, while Priyamani’s performance stands as one of the highlights.

‘Bhama Kalapam’ is a one-time-watch web original, with wit, thrill, and other aspects of entertainment imbibed in the story.

Bhamakalapam: Aha releases gripping trailer starring Priyamani

1

Aha, a household name for Telugu entertainment, is coming up with a new web original, Bhamakalapam, which marks the Telugu OTT debut of popular actress Priyamani.

Already known for her web series The Family Man, in which she had played the wife of a secret agent, Priyamani will be seen as a homemaker who faces multiple challenges in Bhamakalapam.

A just released trailer shows her as a homemaker named Anupama, who is also poplular for her YouTube channel that focuses on home cooked food. At a time when she is shown leading an ordinary life, an extraordinary situation occurs in the form of a missing ancient egg worth Rs 200 crore and a murder.

What’s next seems to be the crux of Bhamakalapam which also has Kollywood actor John Vijay in an important role. The web film will be streamed from February 11.

Aptly captioned ‘a delicious home-cooked thriller’, Bhamakalapam is directed by Abhimanyu Tadimeti, while Dear Comrade-fame filmmaker Bharat Kamma will be the showrunner.

The makers promise an interesting thriller in Bhamakalapam. With musical score by Justin Prabhakaran, cinematography by Deepak Kumar and editing by Viplav, the original web movie is produced by Sudheer Edara and Bogavalli Bapineedu under SVCC Digital banner.

Priyamani opens up on working with Rana Daggubati and Ajay Devgn

National Award-winning actress Priyamani who gained pan-India popularity with the multiple award-winning web series ‘The Family Man’, opens up on her upcoming films ‘Virata Parvam’ and ‘Maidaan’.

She shares her experience of working with two much-loved actors – Ajay Devgn and Rana Daggubati.

‘Baahubali’ fame Telugu star Rana and Priyamani worked together in the film ‘Virata Parvam’, a Venu Udugula directorial based on a real-life incident.

Talking about working with the stars from two different film industries, Priyamani told IANS: “It is so exciting for me to work with both of them be it Ajay sir and Rana. I knew Rana for a long time and we met also socially but never worked together. Quite interestingly, in ‘Virata Parvam’ even though I am not playing the heroine of the film, I am playing a pivotal part.

“The story is set in the ’90s and it is about a Naxal movement. There are actions, interesting turns of event and shows a socio-political chapter of that time, which is a reality too. Both of us are playing Naxals in the film and I am his second in command. Also, it was quite interesting that we shot this film, after ‘Baahubali’. So it was a huge physical transformation that Rana went through because we all know how huge he became physically during the shoot of Baahubali! Since we had to speak a different dialect of Telugu in the film, we had a lot of rehearsals. I am also looking forward to see how the audience reacts to that”

The actress is also playing the wife of Syed Abdul Rahim, the coach and manager of the Indian national football team in the film ‘Maidaan’ and according to her, since the story of the film is set in a different era the world of that story was very different.

“This is a film I can’t wait for it to release because it’s filled with cute moments between Syed Abdul Rahim and his wife. Of course, Ajay sir is playing Rahim saab and it shows how his wife was his emotional support throughout the journey. As the story is set in Hyderabad, we spoke in Hindi with a Hyderabadi accent…It is in the ’50s era and there was an age gap between Rahim saab and his wife. Rahim saab used to teach his wife the English language and there are some moments in the film that would melt many hearts,” shared the actress.

Apart from these two films, Priyamani is working on the new season of ‘The Family Man’ and will be seen in the upcoming film ‘Bhamakalapam’ that will be released on Telugu OTT platform Aha.
