Reshoots increase Rangasthalam’s Budget

Versatile director Sukumar is known for his interesting concepts and the talented director is focused on his next film Rangasthalam 1985. The film has been initially aimed for Dasara release but the delay in the shoot pushed it further. After a huge delay, Rangasthalam 1985 is gearing up for summer release. A reliable source from the movie unit confessed that Rangasthalam 1985 underwent a series of reshoots which heaped up the film’s budget and pushed the release date by months.

All the scenes that involved Ram Charan, Samantha and Anasuya have been shot again informed the source. While Charan wanted the entire shoot to be wrapped up by the end of December, Sukumar has been still spending time shooting the last song and the entire shoot is expected to be completed by this weekend. The makers too were not much happy with the increase in budget and the delay in the film’s release, but with nothing much to do they have been waiting with patience.

Rangasthalam 1985 is a village based romantic drama which has been slated for March 30th release. Mythri Movie Makers are producing the film.

Tollywood witnessed massive hits along with huge disasters over the past couple of years. Right from Brahmotsavam to Agnyaathavaasi, many big budget films left the buyers in hefty losses. Right after the release of Agnyaathavaasi, the buyers are said to have been showing interest in the upcoming big budget films Bharat ane Nenu, Rangasthalam 1985 and Na Peru Surya. Keeping their box-office stamina of Mahesh, Charan and Bunny aside, the buyers have been showing no interest to acquire these films for the prices quoted by the makers.

The makers have been in plans to close the business at the earliest and end up in table profits however the situations have been completely different for Bharat ane Nenu, Rangasthalam 1985 and Na Peru Surya. There have been wide speculations that all the three films underwent re-shoots. Sukumar’s recent outings have done well across the multiplexes and his next outing Rangasthalam 1985 has been delayed by months. The makers feel that Rangasthalam 1985 will not appeal to all the sections even if it ends up as a classic.

Allu Arjun’s Na Peru Surya has been carrying enough buzz but the film is directed by a debutant Vakkantham Vamsi which makes Na Peru Surya a risky project. Superstar Mahesh Babu has been struggling with back to back debacles and the film too underwent re-shoots. All the buyers of these films have deferred with the makers for the quoted prices and so the theatrical business of Bharat ane Nenu, Rangasthalam 1985 and Na Peru Surya is yet to be closed. We have to wait to see the result and the fate of these films which have been announced for summer release.

Ram Charan was supposed to kickstart the regular shooting of Boyapati Srinu’s film by this time. However, the delay in wrapping up the shoot of his upcoming film Rangasthalam has deferred his plans.

Sources close to Charan revealed that he will be sporting an entirely different avatar in Boyapati’s film. So, he wants to wrap up Rangasthalam completely and change his look. As there is few more days shoot left behind, Charan is going to commence shooting for Boyapati’s film only in the last week of February.

Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi and Charan will join the sets in the second schedule and an action sequence will canned featuring both of them.

Kiara Advani is the female lead in this untitled film.

Mega Powerstar Ram Charan is busy with the last schedule of Rangasthalam 1985 which has been planned to be wrapped up this week. Charan signed his next film in the direction of Boyapati Srinu and the regular shoot of this untitled film kick-started recently. Charan is yet to join the shoot and the first schedule of this mass entertainer has been wrapped up. The next schedule will take place from the first week of February in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. Kiara Advani has been roped in to romance Charan in the film.

The actor will join the sets of this untitled film from February 19th. After wrapping up Rangasthalam 1985, Charan will take a small break and will start working on his looks. He will join the sets of the film and will shoot for the film without breaks. Prashanth, Sneha will be seen playing pivotal roles in the film while Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi will be playing the lead antagonist. DVV Entertainments are producing this big budget action entertainer which has been announced for Dasara release. Charan is expected to wrap up his part for the film by July.

Mega Powerstar Ram Charan has been winning the hearts for his massy look as Chitti Babu in his next film Rangasthalam 1985. Sukumar is the director of this village based romantic drama which has been delayed several times. The makers wanted the film to release during Dasara last year but the delay in the shoot pushed the film’s release further and is finally hitting the screens during summer this year. Most of the planned schedules have been delayed and they have been never wrapped up on time. The makers wanted the entire shoot of Rangasthalam 1985 to be wrapped up by December.

However Sukumar convinced the makers for the one last schedule to be shot across Godavari region as he revealed that he was not satisfied with some of the episodes. The last schedule has been planned for ten days and it has been extended too which did not go well with Charan. The actor strictly informed Sukumar that the entire shoot along with the patch work should be wrapped up with this as he has to join the sets of his next project. A song is being canned in Rajamundry currently and Charan is said to have lost his patience completely and wants to wrap up his work at the earliest.

Sukumar earlier faced the same allegations for Mahesh’s 1-Nenokkadine which too has been delayed and delayed. Rangasthalam 1985 budget could not be controlled because of the delayed schedules and extended working days. Bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, the film has been slated for March 30th release.

Vakkantham Vamsi directed Allu Arjun’s movie ‘Naa peru Surya”‘s first impact was released recently and it created record by fetching 1 crore views in just 29 hours of release. Of course, ‘Bahubali’ is still in the first place by fetching 1 crore views in just 23 hours. So Bunny’s movie was in 2nd place after Bahubali. Now teaser of Ram Charan’s movie “Rangasthalam” directed by Sukumar, received 1 crore views within 25.5 hours after release, surpassing “Naa peru Surya” and stood at 2nd place after Bahubali. However, it is not the youtube views but the actual content finally decide which movie surpassed the other.

It is known that Samantha is acting opposite Cherry in this movie and the film will be released on March 30th.

One of the much-awaited projects of 2018 is Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam which set in 1985 backdrop, under the direction of Sukumar. In this film, the actor sporting a completely different look with a beard. The film features Samantha as the female lead. Ram Charan’s character is called ‘Chitti Babu’. Now, the makers have finally unveiled the teaser, a few minutes ago and it looks gripping. 

Like the rumors, the actor will be playing a deaf role in this movie.Ram Charan who is known for mass commercial roles can be seen attempting a challenging deaf role , if the two three glimpses shown as deaf guy are any indicators he’s succeeded in performance. However , diction should have been better to suit more authentic 80s Godavari slang.

The background score is intriguing and it seems DSP is back with a bang. Ramcharan looks rough and macho in this teaser, however, the makers haven’t revealed anything regarding the story. It is a bit disappointment to Samantha fans as there is no sight of her in the teaser. The makers have just focused on Chitti Babu role in this 1-minute video. 

Rangasthalam is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers and is going to hit the screens on March 30. The music is being composed by Devi Sri Prasad, and the film also has Jagapati Babu, Gauthami, Aadi Pinnisetty and Anasuya Bharadwaj in important roles.

When Radha Krishna narrated the line to Prabhas two years ago, he felt that Ram Charan would be the right choice who perfectly suits for the character. However, Radha Krishna wanted Prabhas to portray the character and has been waiting for him since the last three years. So, Prabhas has to stick to his commitment. Actor Ram Charan’s upcoming period drama Rangasthalam 1985 is gearing up for Summer release. The Sukumar directional has been doing phenomenal pre release business in all areas of Telugu states.

It is well known that Sukumar’s films carry strong market base among overseas trade circles. His last outing Nannaku Premato collected more than $ 2M there. Now, Rangasthalam is also keeping the buyers very interested.

According to the latest update, the overseas rights of Rangasthalam have been sealed for 9 Crores by Creative Cinemas NY. This is a promising deal considering Ram Charan’s market in overseas.

Charan’s previous hit Dhruva collected close to $ 1.5 M in overseas and Rangasthalam should emerge as the career best hit to break even ( $1.6M – $ $1.8M).

A rustic entertainer based on village politics, Rangasthalam is predominantly shot in the Godavari region. The shooting formalities are nearing completion and the makers have already announced that the film will release on March 30.

Devi Sri Prasad is rendering the soundtrack and Ratnavelu is cranking the camera.

Team Rangasthalam racing against time

In the making for a long time, Ram Charan’s period drama Rangasthalam 1985, which is set in the backdrop of a Godavari hamlet, is into the last leg of completion. After a short break, the principal cast has resumed shooting in Hyderabad a couple of days ago. Currently, the team is canning some crucial scenes during night time in a special village set erected in Jubilee hills.

Despite extended schedules, the team is still racing against time to make the film ready for Summer release as announced by its makers. The Sukumar directional was initially supposed to hit the screens for Sankranthi, but the continuous delays have pushed its release to March 30. So, the entire shooting should have been wrapped up by mid January to facilitate for a smooth post production phase. However, the team is still left with 20 days shoot. Two more songs are to be shot in Godavari region.

As the shooting formalities are progressing without any hiccups, the team could just manage to finish off the production phase just in time to get the film ready for March 30th.

Samantha is the leading lady and Mythri Movie Makers are bankrolling the film.

Even before an official announcement regarding the Ram Charan – NTR multi-starrer project has been made, speculations are rife in media and industry circles regarding its genre and cast. Master storyteller SS Rajamouli has posted a picture with the two stars a couple of months ago and this has led to the news that the triumvirate are coming together for a crazy project. Since then, media is abuzz with several versions of the film’s storyline. But, neither Rajamouli nor the two stars made an official statement about the project.

Now, it is heard that the much anticipated project is likely to go on floors in October later this year. As both Charan and NTR are committed to complete one film each before commencing the multi-starrer, Rajamouli has decided to take the film on floors in October. Sources say that the film might start rolling on Rajamouli’s birthday which falls on October 10th.
