Viswam First Strike: Action-Packed Cut

Srinu Vaitla who delivered several blockbusters is in a struggling phase. He joined hands with Gopichand for an action packed entertainer and the film is titled Viswam. The first strike of Viswam is out today and it is a stylish cut and is packed with action. Gopichand sports a stylish look in the stunt that is canned in the beautiful locations of Manali and Kashmir. Chaitan Bharadwaj’s background score from the teaser cut is appealing. On the whole, the first strike of Viswam is impressive if given a watch with low expectations.

A portion of the film is shot in Europe. Kavya Thapar is the female lead and the talkie portions are currently shot in Hyderabad. People Media Factory and Chitralayam Studios are the producers and Viswam aims a July release this year. Srinu Vaitla and Gopichand are working for a strong comeback.

After a series of disastrous results with ‘Aagadu’, ‘Bruce Lee’, ‘Mister’ and ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, director Sreenu Vaitla is knocking all the doors in Filmnagar. With such flops, how is he going to convince any star? As someone who has worked with the likes of Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan, and NTR, he is now approaching small-range stars or stars who are going through a bad phase.

He has approached Manchu Vishnu and proposed a plan to do a sequel to ‘Dhee’. When Vishnu didn’t have a single hit, it was Vaitla who gave him the big break with ‘Dhee’. So, Vaitla is seeking ‘guru dakshina’ in right now. But Vishnu is busy with multiple films. Around the same time, he is also dealing with Gopichand who has also given flops.

On the other side, star production house Mythri Movie Makers is aiming to get back to success track after a small blip in their streak of hits with Naga Chaitanya’s Savyasachi. They are ensuring that AAA get good publicity with aggressive promotions. The openings and the first weekend run is going to be very crucial for AAA. Sreenu Vaitla ropes in yesteryear actor for AAA

Ace filmmaker Sreenu Vaitla is on a comeback trail after going through a rough patch over the past few years. For his comeback film, the Dookudu director teamed up with Ravi Teja which marks his fourth collaboration after Nee Kosam , Venky and Dubai Seenu.

Titled as Amar Akbar Anthony, the film will be entirely shot in US. Reportedly, Sreenu Vaitla ropes in yesteryear actor Laya for an important role in this film. Last seen in Telugu cinema eight years ago, Laya will be essaying the role of mother to Anu Emanuel, the leading lady of the film.

Laya moved to US post her marriage and she will be joining the sets shortly. Currently, Sreenu Vaitla is shooting some key portions in the pop sensation Jennifer Lopez’s mansion.

Mythri Movie Makers are bankrolling the film.

While Ravi Teja is busy shooting for Nela Ticket, Sreenu Vaitla has silently commenced shooting for this project in abroad. An excited Sreenu Vaitla posted that he commenced shooting in New York and promised to reveal the full details shortly.

Majority of the film will be shot in USA. Comedian Sunil is expected to play a crucial role in this film.

OS box office report : Mister is an epic disaster

In addition to the big budget failures in overseas like Katamarayudu, the medium budget films too couldn’t make an impact at the overseas box office. Last week, Mani Ratnam’s Cheliyaa disappointed the trade circles with its poor run. This week, it was Sreenu Vaitla’s Mister that is heading towards becoming an epic disaster.

The Varun Tej starrer, which opened to a middling reception on last Friday, failed to improve its collections in the first weekend. The beaten-to-death storyline and the mediocre narration are the major reasons for the poor word mouth and have dented the collections. The film notched up $ 35K on Thursday premiers and managed to collect $16 K and $ 13K on Friday and Saturday. Sunday is no different story as the collections have plunged down further making it a poor first weekend.

Trade analysts opine that the film will be a huge loss venture in overseas.

Directed by Sreenu Vaitla, Mister has Lavanya Tripathi and Hebah Patel as the female leads. Tagore Madhu and Nallamalapu Bujji produced the film.
