Sudha Kongara takes up one more Biopic

Aakaasam Nee Haddhu Ra stands as one of the best films in the recent years. Suriya’s performance along with Sudha Kongara’s narration are the major highlights of the film which is based on the life story of Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath. Sudha Kongara directed the same film in Hindi with Akshay Kumar in the lead role. As per the latest happenings, Sudha Kongara bagged a golden opportunity to work on the biopic of Indian legendary businessman Ratan Tata. Sudha Kongara completed the entire research and she started working on the script.

There are speculations that either Suriya or Abhishek Bachchan will reprise the role of Ratan Tata in his biopic. Sudha Kongara and her team will announce the details about the project officially once the script work is wrapped up. Sudha Kongara is also working on multiple scripts and they will be announced soon.

‘You are my gods’, National Award-winning director Sudha Kongara tells audiences

Director Sudha Kongara, whose ‘Soorarai Pottru’ featuring actors Suriya and Aparna Bala in the lead, walked away with as many as five National Awards, on Tuesday issued a heartfelt statement of gratitude, in which she called her audience ‘Gods’ who kept her going.

The statement issued by the director read, “The journey of this film started with my dad passing away. The last image of father that I carry is of him gesturing to me from his bed to come to him as I stood in the doorway. I went back and added this as a scene in ‘Soorarai Pottru’. As film makers, I guess most of us are finally just greedy voyeurs looking for those moments in our lives to put into our films.

“Thank you dad for the many moments from our lives I’ve put into ‘Soorarai Pottru’. My only regret at this moment of winning the awards is you not being there to see it.

“Thank you to my guru. What am I Mani sir without all that you have taught me? A zero. Thank you Captain Gopinath and Surya. To you sirs… one for entrusting me with his life story and the other for living it on screen.

“Thank you to the producers and every member of the cast and crew of the film. There are no better words than Mahakavi Bharathiyar’s that I can say to each and every one of you at this moment – ‘Soorarai Pottru’. Thank you to my family. For having my back during my lowest of lows. You are my anchors.

“Thank you to my friends GV, Poornima, Dr Vijay Shankar… My best buddies who always believed in me and never let me fall during this journey. You are my rocks. Thank you to my assistant directors. You are my fierce band of loyal warriors out there making my journey possible each time with every film.

“Thank you to the media. You have smacked me hard when I have faltered and failed and supported me even harder when I got something right. You will always remain my beacons. Above all, thank you to the audiences. I finally watched the film in the theatre after nearly two years and your every cheer, every scream and every whistle gave me my closure for this film. You keep me alive. You keep me going. You are my Gods.

“And finally a big shout out to all the film makers from my tribe out there. You struggle and yet you persevere and create against all odds. You make films that you want to make the way you want to, when you want to, how you want to, and with who you want to. Suriya is lined up with films and the actor is working on a fast note to complete his current projects. During her recent interview, director Sudha Kongara confirmed that she is all set to team up with Suriya once again.

This project too will be a biopic and it is adapted from a real story. Sudha Kongara preferred not to reveal many details about the project for now. Suriya commenced the shoot of Bala’s film recently and he has a project with Siva which will roll soon. Suriya and Sudha Kongara’s next film will start rolling next year and an official announcement will be made very soon.

Superstar Mahesh Babu is shooting for Sarkaru Vaari Paata in the direction of Parasuram and the film is announced for Sankranthi 2022 release. The top actor is yet to sign his next and he is holding talks with several directors but he is yet to sign his next film. Sudha Kongara received critical acclaim for her work in Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru that released recently. Suriya’s performance along with Sudha Kongara’s work are widely appreciated.

Sudha is working on a couple of scripts and she is keen to meet Superstar Mahesh Babu soon. She has a multi-lingual script ready for Mahesh Babu and the meeting is expected to take place very soon. Sudha Kongara is giving the final touches to the script currently. She is also holding talks with Ajith for one more project and things will be finalized soon. Mahesh is not in a hurry to sign his next project as he needs time to complete the shoot of Sakaru Vaari Paata. Sudha Kongara is keen to sign a straight Telugu project for some time and hope this project will materialize soon.

Suriya turns Pilot?

Veteran actor Suriya is busy wrapping up his next project titled Thaana Serndha Kootam in the direction of Vignesh Shivan. The actor is said to wrap up the shoot of the film at the earliest. Keerthy Suresh is the female lead and Suriya himself is bankrolling the project. We already revealed that Suriya has been impressed with a script narrated by Sudha Kongara who directed Irudhi Suttru starring Madhavan in the past.

The latest update says that Suriya will be seen as a pilot in the film and the script work of the movie is currently on cards. His characterization is expected to be the major highlight of the film and GV Prakash Kumar will compose the music. Suriya’s 2D Entertainments will bankroll the project which will start rolling from November this year.

Sudha Kongara shot fame with Irudhi Suttru starring Madhavan after which she directed Venkatesh for the Telugu version titled Guru.
