The dream run of director Lokesh Kanakaraj’s action entertainer ‘Vikram’, featuring actors Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil in the lead, continues, with the film now having completed 75 days in theatres.

Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, Raaj Kamal Films International, the production house of actor Kamal Haasan that produced the film, said, “Juggernaut of Indian cinema. #75DaysofVikram and counting!”

The film has already blazed its way into the record books, smashing all existing box-office records in Tamil Nadu.

It grossed Rs 155 crore in just 17 days in the state. Overall box office collections of the film crossed the Rs 400-crore mark in June itself. Now, the film still continues to have a strong run in theatres.

Interestingly, the dream run in theatres continues despite the film having been released on the OTT platform Disney + Hotstar on July 8.

‘Vikram’, which has been showered with praises from people, hasn’t just impressed Indian trade circles alone, but has left even International markets awestruck as well.

Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the Kamal Haasan-Vijay Sethupathi-Fahadh Faasil-Suriya-starrer had its worldwide theatrical release on June 3.

Kamal Haasan is a man of experiments and his career witnessed several ups and downs. After a series of debacles, his recent film Vikram ended up as a super hit. Vikram is a perfect lesson for veteran and senior actors. Kamal had no limits for his role and the first half of Vikram rarely had Kamal present. Vikram is a film that is focused on the script and has no item songs and unwanted entertainment threads. The veteran actors should learn from Kamal Haasan and his interesting attempt. Several senior actors are still keen on commercial films that are filled with unwanted action and romantic episodes. With this success, Kamal Haasan is gearing up for several experiments and he is lining up a series of films.

Kamal Haasan is riding high on the success of his latest release ‘Vikram: Hitlist’. The superstar took to social media to thank everyone and shared that cinema is his oxygen and that he “breathes” it.

Superstar Kamal Haasan’s much-awaited movie, ‘Vikram’, is all set to become a super-duper hit. The movie, which is slated to be released on June 3 in theatres around the world, has already notched up Rs 200 crore in sales of TV and OTT rights.

Kamal Haasan’s 232nd film released to a select audience during the Cannes Film Festival and Umair Sandhu, a critic based out of the UAE, tweeted about it, saying, “It is an earnest and honest effort, a terrific action thriller, with several poignant moments and episodes that leave a stunning impact. If you are in the frame of mind to watch superior quality sensible cinema, go for It #KamalHaasan fans.”

In the movie, Kamal Haasan plays the role of Arun Kumar, an agent working for RAW, India’s external intelligence agency. He is at times brutal and shows no mercy to criminals.

Musically, too, the song ‘Pathala Pathala’, written and co-sung by Kamal Haasan and music composer Anirudh Ravichandran, has already become a big hit on YouTube.

Tamil superstar Vijay Sethupathi plays an antagonist in the movie and Malayalam star Fahad Fazil is also in the film in a major role. Another Tamil superstar, Suriya, makes a cameo appearance in the film, which is produced by Kamal Haasan’s movie house Raj Kamal and R. Mahendran.

Other actors who play significant roles in the movie are Narain, Antony Verghese, Chemben Vinod, Gayathrie Shankar, Shanvi Srivastava, Shivani Narayanan, Arjun Das and Kalidas Jayaram.

The build-up for the Kamal Haasan-starrer ‘Vikram’, where the superstar is essaying the role of a police officer, pitted against Vijay Sethupati playing the villain, will start on Sunday, May 15, the day marked out for the film’s audio release featuring the music of the redoubtable Anirudh Ravichander.

Movie buffs consider ‘Vikram’, which is being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, to be the next moment for the Tamil movie industry. The film is being released on June 3, which is also the opening date of the much-anticipated ‘Major’, the biopic of the 26/11 braveheart, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, and the Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Prithviraj’.

The May 15 audio release of the movie that was slated to be held in Dubai is now shifted to Chennai and will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai. The movie will also have Kamal Haasan playing his younger version in a sequence.

The trailer of ‘Vikram’ will also be shown during the audio release and is expected to be a star-studded event with the possibility of superstar Rajanikanth and other big names in Tamil films participating in the event.

Fahaad Fazil, Narain, Kalidas Jayaram, Gayathrie Shankar, and Chemban Vinod are also playing crucial roles in the movie.

The music of the movie is scored by Anirudh Ravichander and the extensive promotions will commence with the May 15 audio launch.

Superstar Kamal Haasan took to Twitter on Saturday to unveil a powerful poster and first look of his next film “Vikram”. The film will also star Vijay Sethupati and Fahadh Faasil in leading roles.

The black and white poster has “Code: Red” scribbled on it and the actors’ faces marked with scars.

Uploading the poster featuring close-ups of the three actors, Kamal captioned: “Only valour should wear the crown ‘I dare again to render before you the best of our talents. Like before, grant us victory!! Vikram.”

Directed and written by “Master” storyteller Lokesh Kanagaraj, the music of “Vikram” will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

The action thriller will mark third Tamil film for Malayalam star Fahadh after “Velaikkaran” and “Super Deluxe”.

The film, which was said to be delayed due to Kamal’s political commitments, is expected to go on floors soon.
