1. Yuddham Sharanam – The film has taken a below par opening with first day share being less than 2cr. Poor word of mouth has resulted nill improvement over the weekend and ended up with an estimated share of 3.45 Cr. This is one of the lowest 3 day share for the hero and less than many of his disasters.
2. Meda Meeda Abbayi – The opening was on the lines of Yudham Sharanam with day share less than 1Cr. But unlike that film this has maintained steady collections on Saturday and came on board on Sunday with a very good jump. Sunday Collections of the film are what they should have been on Friday to be called a good weekend thus it looks average now. This improvement gives a hope that it may sustain from today. Estimated weekend share for the film is 2.3 Cr.
HOLDOVERS :
1. Both Paisa Vasool & Arjun Reddy had similar collections over the weekend with a minimal difference. They have collected an estimated share of 75 lakhs and 70 lakhs in their 2nd and 3rd weekends respectively taking cumulative totals to 16.2 Cr & 15.6 Cr. Paisa Vasool is a DISASTER while Arjun Reddy is a BLOCKBUSTER.
2. Fidaa with a sensational run completed 50 days in major centres and continued to rake shares even it’s 8th weekend which is phenomenal. It collected more than 36 cr share and the area wise closing will be updated in the website soon.
Naga Chaitanya Akkineni’s latest release, “Yuddham Sharanam” has taken a very poor opening at the US box office. And, the trade analysts predict the film to end up as Chaitu’s biggest disaster. Here is a comprehensive BO analysis of Chaitu’s earlier films which explains why Yuddham has been declared a disaster already.
Despite having released in decent number of screens in US, Yuddham Sharanam could collect only a meager $33K from its Thursday premiers. In comparison, Chaitu’s last release, ‘Ra Randoi Veduka Choodam’ collected $ 67K from Thursday premiers. The premiere gross is even lower than Chaitu’s earlier lowest, $38.6K (Saahasam Swasaga Saagipo).
Adding to that agony, the reviews and word of mouth were below par to poor. This probably resulted in a significant slump in Friday collections, $21K. The cumulative gross from premiers and Friday stands at $54K. As per trade sources, the occupancy on Saturday was very poor, hinting at a miserable number.
Trade analysts now predict that Yuddham Sharanam may end up its dismal run below a lifetime collections of $100K. In that case, it will be Chaitu’s new lowest grosser in the US, taking the dubious title from Tadakha ($98K). Josh (142K), Autonagar Surya (150K) and Dochey (166K) are placed next from the bottom.
Exhibitors of Yuddham Sharanam are in for huge losses. Who would have thought that the film would turn out to be such a huge disaster since it released after two decent grossers – Premam and RRVC.
Naga Chaitanya’s Yuddham Sharanam has taken a below par opening in Telugu States. It has collected a distributor share of 1.82 Cr. The numbers are on par with Dohchay which released 2 years back and pales in comparison with Premam (2.38 Cr) & Ra Randoi Veduka Chudham (3.41 Cr). Yuddam Sharanam collected less than some of Naga Chaitanta’s previous flops/disasters such as ANS, Dhada, Bezawada which collected 2 Cr+

Not many Telugu heroes may confess this but every actor has a fair idea of their film’s fate even before it receives audience’ judgement. Did Naga Chaitanya Akkineni and his father, Nagarjuna predict the result of Yuddham Sharanam beforehand? The happenings prior to the film’s release convey so.
A lot of editing was done as per the suggestions by the Akkineni Senior and the close pals of producer Sai Korrapati to the final copy prepared by the film’s director. The second half looked as if it was edited out without any logic, a probable result of too many brains passing on orders.
Also, as Telugu360 has reported earlier, music director Vivek Sagar was replaced at the last hour. When Rajamouli and senior music director Keeravani saw the final copy, they were very critical of the background music. Following their suggestion, Vivek Sagar was replaced with another associate of Keeravani. Since all these changes were done at the last minute, they couldn’t save.
Moreover, Nagarjuna didn’t approve the Sep 8 release date. He wanted to do some more publicity, create buzz and then release the film. The producer however went ahead as he couldn’t find a better date in next few weeks with the Dussehra and Diwali seasons already being booked by biggies.
Yuddham Sharanam released on Sep 8 to lukewarm occupancy and mediocre talk.

With a disappointing start for both the latest releases, Tollywood’s sensational hit Arjun Reddy will look to notch up few more promising numbers in this weekend.

After tasting a decent success with Ra Randoi Veduka Chooddam, Naga Chaitanya Akkineni is gearing up to engage and entertain audience with his next outing ‘Yuddham Sharanam’, which is slated to hit screens on Sep 8.
Ahead of the film’s release, here is our exclusive interview with Chaitu.
* Whom are you doing this Yuddham (War) for?
– For family. We have already showcased it in the trailer. A happy go lucky youth entangles in an unexpected issue. What he does for his family to keep them safe is the story. The line may look simple but the screenplay is quite novel. Telugu audiences have never seen this kind of screenplay. They will go out of theatres satisfied after watching the film.
* This film’s director is your friend. Have you done this film for his sake?
– Yes, director Krishna is my childhood friend. He is very passionate about films. Krishna has been struggling for past four years but his debut film has finally materialized with me. I accepted the film as I had fallen in love with the script. We together convinced producer Sai Korrapati, who has emerged as the c/o address for good and novel cinema. Krishna and I wanted to make it as a small film but Korrapati’s uncompromising nature made it a big film.
* How important is this film for your career?
– Very important. RRVC took me closer to family audiences and I hope Yuddham Sharanam will help me connect to youth and mass audiences. This is very crucial film for me.
* Is this an action drama?
– There will be action but it will be fresh. Drone camera has been used as a plot element in the film. Screenplay will surprise everyone.
* How could the team convince Srikanth to essay Negative role?
– Villain has an exceptional role in the film. We needed a talent powerhouse. Both Krishna and Sai Korrapati came up with the idea of casting Srikanth and he agreed when approached. His acting is a major asset to the film.
* Lavanya Tripathi has earlier acted with your father. How it felt to act with her?
– Yes, it happens very rarely. She is a sincere artiste. She has a meaty role in the film and she gave her best.
* Tell us something about Savyasachi?
– It is a film based on a different concept yet it is a complete commercial film. Savyasachi means ambidextrous, someone who can fight with equal power with both hands. My left hand doesn’t listen to me in this film. The action sequences will be first of its kind.
* About film with Maruthi?
– We haven’t yet finalized the story yet.
* About marriage?
-It will happen on October 6 in Goa. A Hindu style wedding ceremony will be followed by a Christian style. Marriage ceremony will be a simple one but the reception will be held in a grand manner.
Akkineni Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming family drama Yuddham Sharanam had its audio launch last Sunday. The event saw star director SS Rajamouli as the chief guest who was very impressed with the racy trailer. He praised the whole team and predicted that the film will be a huge success.
Incidentally, Yuddham Sharanam has Rajamouli’s son Karthikeya as the executive producer and his wife Rama worked as the costume designer. This is one of the reasons why Rajamouli is backing this film. It is learnt that he gave valuable inputs to the technical team and the director. The re-recording for the film was initially done by the film’s music director. But, on suggestion from MM Keeravani, he was replaced with a new technician who done the entire re -recording for the film.
Sai Korrapati, the film’s producer, has a good rapport with SS Rajamouli and this is one of the reasons why he and his family are closely involved in the project. Rajamouli is getting involved in the film’s promotions as well. Needless to say, the star director’s association will be a huge boost for the team and also for the film.

The vogue in Tollywood is to release a teaser first and then follow it up with one by one songs in the album. The makers of Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming film Yuddham Sharanam are following this trend. Having unveiled the first look teaser, which received a unanimous thumbs up from audience, the makers have decided to release the first single from the film shortly.
The latest update reveals that the first single ‘Enno Enno Bhaavale’ will be out on August 7th on the eve of Raksha Bandhan. Naga Chaitanya took to Twitter to announce the news. The music score was done by Vivek Sagar.

A slew of films are gearing up to hit the screens this August. It will be a jam packed month with as many as eight films gearing up to test their luck at the box office in the span of four weeks.
Starting with two low budget films on the first Friday( August 4th) – Nakshatram and Darshakudu, the box office tussle gets interesting with Ajith’s Vivegam( Vivekam in Telugu) set to release in the next week on August 10th. To cash in on the long weekend followed by Independence Day holiday, three films are going to slug it out at the box office on August 11th – Nithiin’s Lie, Rana’s NRNM and Boyapati’s Jai Janani Nayaki.
Tapsee’s horror comedy Anando Brahmo is slated for a solo release on August 18th. Naga Chaitanya’s much awaited intense thriller Yuddham Sharanam is tentatively scheduled for August 25th release. Also, a couple of dubbing releases ( Tamil) might also add to the list of August releases.
It would be an interesting fight at the box office between these low and medium budget films this August offering a good treat for movie buffs.
