Andhra Jyothy published a front-page banner item ‘Aa Mantri O Monarch’ (That minister is a monarch) on Friday in its Andhra Pradesh edition. Without referring to the minister’s name the report stated that his aggressive nature is not going down well with officers.
It alleged that due to the self-centered behavior of the Minister, Maki Associates was dropped from designing Amaravati’s masterplan. Even though the Chief Minister was not willing to drop Maki Associates, the minister strongly insisted as the Japanese firm did not receive him in an ‘appropriate manner’ when he visited their headquarters.
The Minister has been making Hasty decisions on the capital construction and has changed three secretaries within three years. Without questioning his efforts of integrity an effort, the report ran on the ministers working style which is upsetting many. It is conclusive that the monarch is Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana.
However, it is worth pondering if the Telugu Daily trying to portray the true nature of the minister or is it just making him a scapegoat; considering the several denunciations against TDP government regarding the delay in construction of the capital and the Swiss Challenge method.
