TDP MPs make fun out of protests

The State is burning on issues like special category status and steel plant. The demand for railway zone or any of the bifurcation issues and promises are great concern for the people. The political parties are playing high drama to get the political mileage out of the sentiments of the people.

The present indefinite hunger strike by Telugu Desam Party MP C M Ramesh is a big question mark on the sincerity of the leaders in holding such protests. It is 11th day and he is still strong without taking food. It was the same leader who fell unconscious in Lok Sabha during bifurcation of the State after standing for four hours in the House. He was rushed to the hospital then.

But, now, after 10 days of fast, he is still healthy which raises several questions on the very fast itself. His colleague and MLC, B Tech Ravi (M Ravindranath Reddy) was shifted to the hospital on the eighth day, while Ramesh continues his fast. There are indications that he would continue till June 30, when Chandrababu Naidu arrives in Kadapa and addresses a public meeting.

While the fast of Ramesh raises doubts over the sincerity of the leaders in the agitation, there are the party MPs who sat in Delhi claiming to be fighting for the State issues, making fun out of the issue. The video clip of the MPs cracking jokes on the indefinite hunger strike and the claims on the special status, railway zone and steel plant, is going viral in the social media and it is seen as insult to the people.

If the MPs are confident that the status or zone or steel plant is not given, then why are they fighting and misleading people is a big question. If the fast is only to reduce the weight and is meant for health correction, why are they misleading people?

The same leaders who make fun of these issues in the inner meetings, are taking it big outside in the presence of the media and people. This exposes the commitment that these leaders have towards the people and the State. Hope, people will now realise what is happening in the State and what the politicians are making fun out of their issues.
