Telugu Community burns BJP’s dreams into ashes in KA Elections

1

BJP which won 104 out of 222 seats in Karnataka Assembly Elections failed short of the magic figure of 113 seats. Statistics revealed that it is the ‘Telugu Community’ (which forms 15.47% of the total population) distance the national party from forming the government, thanks to the AP SCS sentiment invoked by AP leaders, particularly TDP leaders, in Karnataka.

If not for the Telugu people’s ire, the national party would have gone on to form the government making BS Yeddyurappa as the 18th Chief Minister. Owing to this, BJP failed desolately in the 5 districts of Raichur, Koppal, Bellary, Chikkaballapur, and Kolar districts, which account for a larger portion of Telugu population.

District
MLA Seats

Seats won by BJP
Raichur72
Koppal53

Bellary
92
Chikkaballapur50
Kolar60
Total327

The above table clearly illustrates that BJP won 8 out of 32 seats (25%) in the above 5 districts. If we can exclude these 32 seats out of 222, BJP has won 96 out of the rest 190 seats, a clear majority of 50.5%.

One has to wait and see, how far BJP will march ahead despite the backlash from the Telugu community in upcoming state elections in other states.
