This is the letter written by union labor minister Bandaru Dattatreya to Smriti Iranti seeking action against the Dalit Students of Hyderabad Central University. HCU students, now on warpath HCU administration, allege that this letter was responsible for spoiling the HCU’s academic and intellectual atmosphere. As a response to the letter HRD minister Irani asked the Vice Chancellor Apparao to appoint a committee to verify the contents and take action against the students who were responsible for the activities mentioned in the letter written by Dattatreya. upon the recommendations from the High Power committee, the VC suspended five students, Rohit Vemula, a brilliant and creative brain, was one. Rohit committed suicide by hanging. Today the HCU is tense. Armed police have been depolyed. In Delhi, students from Universities in Delhi are staging a sit-in in front of Smirit Irani’s office.
