YCP Chirala defeated MLA candidate Amanchi Krishna Mohan has taken his media intolerance to a murderous level. His brother and rowdy sheeter Swamulu has made a murder attempt on local journalist Nagarjuna Reddy over his continuing crusade against their sand mafia and other unlawful activities. The attack came just a day after the journalist made a representation at the Spandana programme at the district collectorate.
The YCP leaders’ murder attempt went totally against the spirit of CM Jaganmohan Reddy’s goal of solving all problems raised at Spandana. Moreover, Krishna Mohan is going a step further than Jagan in attacking the media. He targetted Nagarjuna Reddy though he has been working for a noted Telugu daily for a long time. He has also written many stories about illegal activities of Krishna Mohan.
The murder attempt on the senior journalist now triggered lot of concern and agitation among the media. This has put spotlight on the overall anti-media policy of CM Jagan Reddy. He has already banned ABN and TV 5 Channels.
