Andhra Pradesh government led by Telugu Desam Party president and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is more determined and particular to complete construction of capital city Amaravati before the start of 2029 when the countdown for the next term elections starts. This is because he wants to forestall any further attempts by his political opponents in future to shift it.
During the 50th meeting of Capital Region Development Authority, the apex body which was entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing all the administrative functions behind the shaping of the greenfield capital city of Amaravati, Naidu has once again directed the officials and Minister P. Narayana to fast track the development activities for completing the first phase of construction. Seven key decisions have been unanimously taken by CRDA in the presence of Chief Minister during this significant meeting held at Camp Office in Undavalli on Saturday.
The CRDA has given the green signal for the acquisition of 20,494 acres of land and the construction of 4 International Convention Centers has also been approved. Sand distillation for construction activity in the capital region and approval for high density residential complex have been formally ratified.
Additionally, The CRDA Authority has approved the proposals for the construction of international standard convention centers near the five-star hotels to be built in Amaravati. The Authority has decided to allocate 2.5 acres each for the construction of these convention centers near Vivanta and Hilton hotels in Mandada, Hyatt Regency in Tullur, and Novotel in Lingayapalem.
The CRDA authority also approved the decisions taken by the Ministerial Sub-Committee on land allocation to various institutions in the Amaravati capital. The CRDA authority has approved allotment of 2 acres to the Central Bureau of Investigation, 2 acres to the Zoological Survey of India, 5 acres to the State Forensic Science Lab, 0.495 acre to the Andhra Pradesh Cooperative Bank Limited, 12 acres to the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy, and 12 acres to the MSK Prasad International Cricket Academy.
The CRDA Authority has also given its approval to allot 2 acres to the Income Tax Department, 2 acres to AP Gramin Bank, 0.40 acres to Central Bank of India, 0.50 acres to SIB, 0.50 acres to Bureau of Immigration, 25 acres to KIMS Hospital and Medical College, 2 acres for the construction of Bharatiya Janata Party office, and 4 acres to Basil Woods International School. The Authority has also decided to cancel the 1.40 acres previously allotted to Gas Authority of India Limited and Ambika Group. It has given its approval to the construction of a four-lane ROB on the E-15 road near Mangalagiri in the capital region.
Naidu has ordered the installation of memorials of Alluri Seetharama Raju and Potti Sriramulu. He insisted that the eco-parks being built in various areas should also be named after prominent personalities. He suggested that the officials should make efforts without any extravagance for new projects. He said that any project planned to be built in the capital should be followed up without any delay.
As there is adequate financial support from the central government led by Narendra Modi, the completion of capital city Amaravati in the next few years looks a reality now as Chandrababu Naidu is very adamant on meeting the deadlines without fail this time.
