While political speculations are at high on the moves of Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) Chairman Prof M Kodandaram to start a new regional party, political circles are surprised with the sudden news spreading stating that balladeer Gaddar is floating a new political outfit and efforts are at an advanced stage.

He has also finalised his new party’s name as `Tyagala Telangana’ and started interacting with various sections in the state, seeking their active involvement. Speculations are rife that Gaddar along with his close aides might announce his new party very soon in Hyderabad.

The balladeer had contributed by singing songs and organising “Dhoom-Dham” during the statehood movement, to garner the support of people, is planning to take a political plunge. He was said to be disappointed with the two and half year’s TRS regime.

He was particularly concern with alleged attempts to side-line all those who were in the forefront of the Telangana statehood movement and also who had sacrificed their lives for the cause, bringing `feudal’ forces in the centre of governance. His new outfit said to be mainly concentrates in mobilising support from active participants in Telangana movement, besides daliths and people’s organisations floated by various naxalite groups.

His political ambitions are not new. At a time Telangana statehood movement was at peak and TRS was almost monopolized the Telangana movement, he had launched Tealngana Praja Front in 2010. But his attempts to gain political ground failed.

Gaddar, born as Gummadi Vittal Rao, has started his political activities by closely associating with People’s War Group and became familiar as a revolutionary with his ballads promoting Naxalite’s political agenda.

He is always considered as the one of the representatives of the Maoists. In 2004 when Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy government resorted to negotiations with People’s War Group, along with revolutionary writer Varavara Rao, Gaddar were participated as their representatives.

Recently he held detailed discussions with Telangana Congress Committee working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, reportedly on his proposed new outfit.
