Election season is about to start in AP now. All the parties in AP are gearing up for the crucial 2019 elections. As per latest report, TDP supremo Chandra Babu Naidu wants to follow KCR’s strategy of announcing the candidates much before EC notification.
Election notification for AP elections and LS elections may be out by Feb end or early March. After Telangana results, one reason attributed for TRS’s success and failure of Praja kootami is that KCR announced almost all seats much before the notification and Congress and allies couldn’t announce the tickets until last minute. Obviously, announcing candidate early will give him sufficient time to go into public and properly strategize. As per latest reports, CBN may announce tickets for as many as 60 seats in January itself. Probably, during Pongal time, CBN will announce the tickets for 60-70 seats. Also, he might repeat most of the sitting MLAs, like KCR did.
So, already debate started whether this will be a good move or not. Even in Telangana also, there was anti-incumbency on several of sitting MLAs but KCR urged people to vote for TRS considering his own performance rather than local MLA’s performance. In AP also, there are several MLAs, on whom there is lot of anti-incumbency. We will have to wait and see whether following KCR’s strategy will work for CBN or not.
