Pradeep Ranganathan’s rom-com, Dude is proving to be a box office winner, dominating Diwali weekend both in India and overseas. After delivering the biggest opening of his career, Dude has a solid hold on Day 2 with the movie raking nearly similar numbers. In several key territories, the film even crossed its opening day numbers.
Directed by debutant Keerthiswaran and bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, the film has now become the top Indian film worldwide among Diwali releases. Over 231K tickets were sold in the last 24 hours on BookMyShow alone. It is also trending top on the ticketing portal. The movie has crossed the $500K milestone overseas much before the end of Day 2.
Trade analysts predict Dude to continue its impressive run for few more days, with extended Diwali weekend set to drive even higher footfalls. The movie is set for a record-breaking collection in its first week.
