Former Minister and Congress Visakhapatnam District President Pasupuleti Balaraju has resigned from Congress and joined Jana Sena Party. He switched his loyalties at a meeting in Vijayawada in the presence of Jana Senani Pawan Kalyan and former Speaker Nadendla Manohar.

Balaraju has long been considering to quit Congress and waiting to take a correct decision on shifting his loyalties. Nadendla Manohar has played a key role in convincing Balaraju to join Jana Sena. Migration from other parties has been high into Jana Sena Party in Coastal Andhra districts.

Welcoming Balaraju into the party, Jana Senani Pawan spoke on how his party has been inviting all leaders with an inspiration to serve the people without any selfish motives. He again said that he gave his support to Chandrababu Naidu in 2014 in the hope of seeing a transparent and non-corrupt government. But just like YSR regime, Naidu has also encouraged corrupt elements like mining and illegal activities with Vizag port as focal point, Pawan said.

Pawan questioned the silence of Chandrababu Naidu though many illegal activities were being carried out in the name of Minister Nara Lokesh in the state.
