Prime Video’s Telugu Original series Dhootha has cemented its spot at the top, trending at #1 on Prime Video India for two weeks straight since launch.

Prime Video, India’s most loved entertainment destination, today unveiled the trailer of its first long-format Telugu original series, Dhootha, a compelling supernatural suspense-thriller series.
The trailer gives the audience a glimpse into the dark and dangerous twists and turns that journalist Sagar’s (Naga Chaitanya Akkineni) life takes when clippings of newspapers start predicting horrible accidents that befall the people around him. The investigative journalist realizes he must find a way to stop these unfortunate events before he runs out of time.
Director Vikram K Kumar is an expert in making supernatural thrillers, and he showed his mark, as the trailer engages us from the start to the end. Naga Chaitanya shined in the role of an investigative journalist and his intense and impeccable performance makes the narrative more spellbinding. Dhootha looks technically sound as well with top-notch visuals and pulsating score. The trailer sets the expectations bar too high for the series.

We exclusively learned that Naga Chaitanya is playing the role of a journalist who is more keen on becoming successful in every attempt at any cost.
This is overall the third time collaboration for Chaitu with Vikram Kumar, after the feature films Manam and Thank You.
The web series billed to be a thriller is mounted splendidly with a top-notch technical team handling different departments. Sharrat Marar is producing it on Northstar Entertainment.
Mikholaj from Poland is the cinematographer, Ishaan from New York is the music director and Navin Nooli is the editor.
Dhootha will have a total of 8 episodes with 40 minutes duration each.
Bollywood actress Prachi Desai thanked director Vikram and Naga Chaitanya for making her experience working on ‘Dhootha’ simpler.
In an Instagram post, Prachi Desai also revealed that she had to learn Telugu phrases for her role.
During filming, the actress ate delectable Asian cuisine.
Prachi is seen standing with Vikram and Naga Chaitanya in a snapshot provided by her, and they all appear to be at ease in each other’s presence.
Prachi Desai has been making headlines for her upcoming series ‘Forensic 2022,’ which will premiere on June 24.
Apart from this series, she is also working on ‘Dhootha,’ a highly-anticipated new series directed by Vikram of ‘Manam’ fame and starring Naga Chaitanya in the lead role.
Prachi just wrapped filming for the series, which is set to premiere later this year.
On the other side, Naga Chaitanya is looking forward to the release of his films ‘Thank You’ and ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.
Naga Chaitanya is making his digital debut with Dhootha which happens to be the first Telugu Original from Amazon Prime. Vikram Kumar directed this web series and the post-production work is in the final stages. Parvathy Thiruvothu, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Prachi Desai, and Tharun Bhascker will be seen in other prominent roles. The total budget of Dhootha is said to be Rs 45 crores which is the highest ever for a Telugu web series. Vikram Kumar and Naga Chaitanya have reportedly taken Rs 5 crores each for the project.
Impressed with the output, Amazon Prime signed one more project with Vikram Kumar and the discussions are going on. Dhootha is a supernatural horror-thriller that has ten episodes. The release date of Dhootha will be announced soon. Before this, Naga Chaitanya and Vikram Kumar completed a film titled Thank You and the film is announced for July 8th release.
