Salaar Vs Dunki for Theatres

The distributor of Dunki has blocked all the screens in North for Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki. PVR and Inox that happens to be the biggest chain of multiplexes of the nation did not allocate atleast a single show for Salaar which also happens to be the most awaited film. PVR and Inox has opened the bookings of Dunki till Sunday in North and the chart is out. Several single screens too are following the same practise and this irked the team of Salaar.

The makers are now denying shows for Salaar in South for PVR and Inox. The practise will impact the numbers of both the films across the nation and the issue has to be settled amibcably. Salaar is an actioner featuring Prabhas and it is directed by KGF fame Prashanth Neel. Dunki happens to be the most awaited film of Shah Rukh Khan and is directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Both the films will have to get a wider release and share the screens to find huge revenues during the holiday season. Hope the issues would be sorted very soon.

Shah Rukh Khan is back to charm audience with Dunki after delivering massive blockbusters in action avatar. With only few days left for the release of the film in theatres, the makers of Dunki have unveiled Dunki Drop 4, the much awaited trailer. Apart from SRK, Dunki stars Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, Anil Grover. The trailer presents a promising blend of fun and emotion, reminiscent of the experiences we have encountered in Hirani’s previous films.

The trailer begins with SRK aboard a train, establishing the tone for the adventure ahead. It introduces the delightfully wacky characters, beginning with Hardy (played by SRK) when he arrives in a gorgeous Punjab village. SRK introduces his gang “Ullu Da Patthas” Manu, Sukhi, Buggu, and Balli. The humorous and emotional moments between this gang are going to be highlight. They dream of travelling to London in pursuit of better opportunities. This heart-warming tale follows Hardy played by SRK challenges and life-changing experiences along with his friends on foreign lands.

From the trailer it is evident that Dunki is all set to deliver a delightful blend of humour and heartfelt moments, that promises to leave an indelible mark on the hearts of audiences. Shah Rukh Khan is on all time high with back-to-back hits Pathaan and Jawan. The actor will test his luck for the third time this year with Dunki, a film directed by Rajkumar Hirani. It would be quite surprising if one comes to know about the financials of Dunki. The film is made on a budget of Rs 85 crores (for making) and the film was shot in just 75 days. The final budget touched Rs 120 crores including all the remunerations and the post-production work. Both Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani are co-producers and they would share the profits from the film instead of taking remunerations.

The makers already recovered the entire investment and pocketed Rs 100 crores through the non-theatrical rights and the entire theatrical revenue would be a bonus for Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan. This makes it clear that Dunki is a huge profitable project for SRK and Hirani. Completing a film with Superstar in 75 days is something suprising these days. SRK completed his portions in just 60 days and the film was shot in multiple locations. Dunki is heading for release on December 21st across the globe.

Jio Cinema, the latest entrant into the digital space has been spending huge on biggies. Jio Cinema acquired the digital rights of Dunki for a record price of Rs 155 crores including all the languages. This is the biggest-ever digital deal for an Indian film.

Though digital giants like Amazon Prime and Netflix were in the race, Jio Cinema closed the deal for such a huge price. Dunki is one of the most awaited films and is carrying huge expectations.
