Errabelli’s cabinet minister post days numbered!

0

Errabelli Dayakar Rao is the senior most MLA in the Legislative Assembly.

He was elected as MLA six times so far since 1994. Of this, he won from TDP five times in 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014 and won from TRS in 2018.

Despite being a senior MLA in TDP, then Chief Minister of Undivided Andhra Pradesh N.Chandrababu Naidu did not take him into his cabinet in his first term as CM from 1995 to 1999 and also in the second term from 1999 to 2004 due to political, regional and caste equations.

In 2004, TDP lost power to Congress. Though Errabelli won as MLA again from TDP in 2004 and 2009 and 2014, he could not become minister as TDP lost power.

Errabelli was very upset at not becoming minister in his long political career despite being elected to Assembly five times while several junior MLAs made it to the cabinet in TDP governments headed by NTR and Chandrababu Naidu between 1995 and 2004.

Errabelli continued in TDP even after bifurcation of AP in June 2014 and served as TDPLP leader in Telangana Legislative Assembly.

TRS chief and Telangana CM KCR, who knew very well that Errabelli is desperate to become a minister, offered him cabinet minister post, if he joins TRS along with other TDP MLAs in Assembly in 2015.

Errabelli along with 11 other TDP MLAs joined TRS and merged TDPLP into TRSLP.

However, KCR did not induct Errabelli into his cabinet in his first term as CM from 2014 to 2018-December.

But after coming to power for second term in December 2018, KCR fulfilled his promise and made Errabelli as a minister in February 2019.

He will complete three years as minister in February 2022.

But even before he completes three years, speculations are rife in political circles that KCR is planning to remove Errabelli from his cabinet and induct Banda Prakash from the same Warangal district.

KCR is planning to reshuffle his cabinet after Sankranthi in January 2022 and Errabelli may be dropped from the cabinet.

This became evident as KCR nominated Banda Prakash as MLC, who is the Rajya Sabha member and still has three-years tenure left as MP.

TRS circles say KCR made Banda Prakash, a BC leader from Warangal, as MLC with a purpose to take him into his cabinet.

From undivided Warangal district, there are two ministers in KCR’s cabinet at present. One is Errabelli and the other is Sathyavathi Rathod.

Since Satyavathy Rathod is the only minister in cabinet from ST sections, the chances of KCR dropping her from the cabinet are remote, say TRS circles.

This would mean that Errabelli will be removed and replaced with Banda Prakash.

If that happens, poor Errabelli would not be able to work as a minister even for one complete term of five years despite winning as MLA six times.

“Shun false prestige, declare drought in TS”

TDP leader in Assembly Errabelli Dayakar on Tuesday accused TRS government of deliberately delaying dispatch of drought report to the centre. Government should not go for a false prestige in acknowledging the drought and suicides in the state, he said.

Participating in the debate in Assembly on the farmers’ suicides in the Telangana state, Dayakar Rao, asked the government to spell out the reasons for the delay in sending the drought report to the centre. ” So far 14 states have sent the reports the centre and sought drought relief from the centre. Why is it that Telangana is delaying,” he asked. Dayakar Rao also wonder why had the government not declared the drought affected mandals in the state even though 50 per cent of crops either failed or not sown in the state.

“The BJP government at Centre is ready to extend the help to state if a proper report is received on drought. As the friendly party of BJP, the TDP is also ready to put pressure on the NDA government to release drought relief liberally,” he said.

He alleged that after boasting that Telangana was rich state, was coming in the way of requesting the centre for help.” Telangana may be a rich state. There are huge mass of poor farmers in the state. So far 1400 farmers have committed suicide. So, the government should not take this as a matter prestige and delay the drought declare drought in the state,” he said. He said false prestige of rich state should not harm the farmers who were in distress.

Errabelli granted bail

0

Telangana TDP leader and MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Monday remanded to judicial custody for 14 days in a case of clash at a foundation stone laying ceremony of market yard building at Palakurti, Warangal district. In the afternoon, however, he was granted bail.

In the clash that took place on Sunday, the followers of Errabelli and Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari pelted stones at each other injuring about 15 persons including a police official Osman Sharif. Errabelli was taken into police custody and he was kept at Bachannapeta police station overnight. He was produced before the Jangaon Court on Monday morning. The police registered cases against 21 accused and Errabelli was named as A1. The court remanded him to judicial custody.

The reason for yesterday’s clash was the non-observance of protocol. Protocol has become problem in Telangana, not only are Opposition members, even the ruling MPs like Balka Suman complaining against ignoring the local people’s representative violating the protocol. Errabelli is said to have objected to the way the deputy CM was going around his constituency ignoring the local MLA. Dayakar is said to have reached the venue of foundation stone to object to the function. This first led to the war of words between the two leaders followed by pushing and shoving of supporter of two groups. Finally it led to the stone-pelting.

Palakurthi, the stronghold of TDP leader, has become a trouble spot in the district. It is not the first time that Errabelli remanded to two week judicial custody. In 2012, in the thick of T-movement, in connection with a case related to his rude behavior with an SI. Following a complaint by the Police, he was denied bail and sent to 15 day judicial custody. Of course, this happened during Congress regime and the context was Telangana movement.
