Authenticity of video showing Indian Army destroying Pakistani bunkers questioned

0

National Media and of course regional Telugu media on Monday morning covered exclusive story on befitting reply given by Indian Army which carried out a counter-strike on border posts along the line of control (LoC) , by bringing down a Pakistani post and a bunker in less than 60seconds.

In a video circulating widely on social media, Pakistan posts are destroyed and apparently, a soldier can be heard saying “the shell has hit the target, we have brought it down”. Media started hailing the Indian Army for replying to Pakistan for their heinous crime last week where two Indian soldiers were martyred and their bodies were brutally mutilated by Pakistani forces.

In a very short span several reports emerged questioning the legitimacy of video but nothing is conclusive yet. There is no official announcement and the reports differ on the timing and exact location of the attack. Some reports suggest that the video is from April before the mutilation of soldiers while media houses claim otherwise.

Defence Minister Arun Jaitley said that the Army had been given a free hand to retaliate Pakistan’s mutilation act. Even Indian Army Chief Bipin Rawat had also said that an attack will be conducted at a time of “our choice and preference”. But neither of them confirmed on the video nor the media validated the video.

On twitter, army sources have been giving different views. Few sources claim this video was shot in April and not linked to the mutilation incident, while few of them claim it is less than 48hours old. There is no authenticity of this video and only shows journalism in poor light.
