Khammam TRS leaders target Jagan’s close friend!

0

It’s nearly 15 days since MLC election results under local bodies quota were announced in Telangana. The ruling TRS made a clean sweep by winning al the six MLC seats that went for polls and bagged remaining six MLC seats unanimously.

Despite the stupendous victory, the MLC results have failed to douse the fire in TRS due to incidents of cross-voting witnessed in elections.

The TRS is yet to recover from the large-scale cross-voting of TRS voters (MPTCs, ZPTCs etc) in favour of Congress in Khammam.

Although TRS candidate Tata Madhu won with a clear majority, nearly 300 TRS voters resorted to cross-voting and voted for Congress.

TRS leaders in Khammam district are now targeting Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, known to be the close friend of YSRCP chief and Andhra Pradesh YS Jaganmohan Reddy, for cross-voting.

Pongulet won as Lok Sabha member from Khammam from YSRCP in 2014 Lok Sabha polls even after bifurcation of AP.

However, he joined TRS soon after on the advice of Jagan as Jagan decided to close YSRCP in Telangana to focus on Andhra Pradesh.

TRS chief and Telangana CM KCR, his son KTR made several promises to Ponguleti while inducting him into TRS but none were fulfilled.

KCR denied him party ticket for Khammam Lok Sabha seat despite Ponguleti being sitting MP. KCR gave ticket to Nama Nageshwar Rao who joined TRS from TDP just before Lok Sabha polls in April 2019.

KCR denied ticket to Ponguleti even in 2018 December Assembly polls promising him ticket in Lok Sabha polls, which too was not fulfilled.

Ponguleti was later promised MLC nomination and cabinet minister post which too were ignored. Ponguleti is very upset at KCR and KTR and staying away from party activities.

At this stage, MLC polls came and Ponguleti reportedly took revenge on TRS by asking his supporters (MPTCs, ZPTCs etc in Khammam) to vote for Congress. TRS Khammam leaders reportedly submitted all the proofs to KCR and KTR to prove these allegations against Ponguleti.

It appears that Ponguleti will soon be removed from TRS. If not, Ponguleti himself is planning to quit TRS and join Congress.

Bhatti, Renuka ‘ego clash’ hits Cong in Khammam!

1

Khammam politics are totally different in Telangana.

Although TRS swept all the polls in all districts in Telangana, it could not succeed in Khammam.

Because Khammam voters always favoured Congress, TDP over TRS in Assembly polls though its a different issue that elected MLAs from Congress and TDP defected to TRS later.

If there is one district in Telangana where Congress still has some political hold, it is Khammam district.

Now even this Khammam district may shun Congress soon, due to ego clashes between two senior party leaders in the district.

One is CLP leader, Madhira MLA Malllu Bhatti Vikramarka and other is firebrand woman leader, former Khammam MP Renuka Chowdhary.

Both are trying to gain upper hand over the other instead of working together to strengthen Congress in Khammam.

Bhatti secured MLC ticket to his follower Nageshwar Rao recently. Renuka is upset at this and ignored to work for his victory.

Congress leaders and cadre are worried over fate of Congress in Khammam due to ego clashes of top leaders in district.

Tummala giving sleepless nights to TRS in Khammam!

1

Senior TRS leader from Khammam and former minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao is keeping his own party leaders and cadre in Khammam on tenterhooks at a time when the party is facing the tough election battle for Khammam Municipal Corporation on April 30.

Tummala is angry at party chief KCR and working president KTR for sidelining him in Khammam politics ever since he lost 2018 December Assembly polls.

He is also angry at KCR and KTR for giving prominence to minister Puvvada Ajay and MP Nama Nageshwar Rao in Khammam district.

Tummala is also reportedly upset at KCR and KTR for not nominating him as MLC during the last two and a half years as promised.

Tummala remains inactive in TRS now. He is not taking Khammam municipal corporation polls seriously and not helping party leaders or cadre to win the election.

On the other hand, Tummala is extensively touring the Khammam district and meeting his supporters giving anxious moments to TRS leadership about what could be Tummala’s strategy behind this and whom he is helping with his tours.

Congress aspirants unhappy in Yellendu

0

Recent developments in Yellendu (ST) assembly segment in Khammam district are giving sleepless nights to Congress state leadership.

Long-time party workers and ticket hopefuls are nearly around 30 in number with about three to four of them being stronger aspirants who have been also spending huge amounts of money in the last four years.

These aspirants are now seething with anger following rumours about former MLA Vooke Abbaiah having already secured promise from Congress high command for Yellendu ticket.

Abbaiah’s followers are vigorously campaigning in tandas and hamlets in the constituency, saying their leader is going to contest and that they should support him.

Other aspirants like Banothu Haripriya and Bhukya Singh are unhappy over this, saying Abbaiah has recently joined Congress while they have been there spending on crowd mobilisation and meetings of party for last several years.

Insiders say if Congress has not tackled this issue carefully, it will meet with certain discontent and defeat in the segment.

KTR sold ice-cream for Rs50000, now sell Chilli for Rs10000 – TDP

0

Leader of Telugu Desam Party in Telangana A Revanth Reddy came down heavily on the Telangana government for their unscrupulous attitude towards Chilli farmers. Speaking at the Khammam TDP Rythu Deeksha, he asked, “if KTR sold ice cream for 50000 rupees, why is he not selling quintal Chilli for 10000 rupees?”
The TDP leader questioned, if the government is not able give fair price for 2lakh acres of crop, how will they pay for 1 crore acres. Revanth Reddy further held that the government is giving fair price for cinemas but not for farmers.

TDP organized protest condemning the manner in which farmers were arrested and handcuffed on April 30 when they protested against the falling Mirchi prices. He said farmers tried to protest as the traders were trying to cheat them. Revanth Reddy critiqued Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao’s attitude towards farmers.

The TRS minister reacting to the allegations said that the KCR government is doing more than expected for Agriculture by giving current, developing fields and laying roads. Nageshwar Rao further said that TDP has no moral right to speak about Telangana movement.

Political Conspiracies or clouded view of TRS?

The rampage at Khammam Chilli Market Yard this week and the incidents at Mallanna Sagar almost a year ago, both have a thing in common – the TRS government claiming that it is political conspiracy of the opposition parties. Both the cases come under the purview of CM’s nephew T Harish Rao who is the Marketing Minister and the Irrigation Minister of the state.

In both the cases, unidentified men were held responsible and the government has details of the case against the people behind the acts. Kodandaram was arrested and opposition parties were blamed for conspiring against government

TRS alleged that the Congress leaders stooped to filing cases with forged signatures in the name of deceased farmers of Singaram and Vemulaghat villages. On other hand TRS leaders, said that the Minimum support price will be decided by the central government. BJP rubbished the claims and said that AP government sought centre’s assistance to stabilize prices during fluctuations, but the Telangana government has been refusing to use this scheme.

The police took over the place in the two incidents. Outcasts especially political parties trying to enter the village or market Yard were not allowed. As the tensions built up at Mallanna sagar, in August, section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code was enforced in the Vemulghat village. Likewise, In the Khammam Commissionerate, 144 section is in force from today.

Last week Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister SomiReddy ChandraMohan Reddy said that Telangana farmers are bringing Chilli from Khammam and Warangal to the Guntur Market Yard, because of the prices being offered by the CM Chandrababu Naidu.

It is worth pondering, if the villagers of Vemulaghat in Medak district who have been on a relay hunger strike for the past 330 days objecting against the Mallanna Sagar project, is a political conspiracy of opposition.

Naga Sadhus to Electrify T-Godavari Pushkarlu

0

In an effort to enhance the sacredness of the event and impart Kumbha Mela stature to the Godavari Pushkaralu, Telangana government is inviting huge number of Sadhus from Himalayas to state during Pushkaralu that are set to commence from July 14. It is for the first time that the Sadhus are participating en masse in Pushkaralu. Normally, they are seen only at Kumbha Mela.

State government is making elaborate arrangements to make Godavari another ritual destination for the Sadhus, who live in Himalayan shrines and caves. These Sadhus are invited to take a holy dip in River Godavari at Bhadrachalam, Khammam district.

The state government is expecting about 1500 Sadhus to visit Pushkara Ghat at Bhadrachalam. According to N Sivasankar, Endowments Secretary, the Telangana government has released Rs 1.50 crore to provide amenities to Sadhus. Government is making special arrangements for their stay in the outskirts of temple-town Bhadrachalam.

If the Sadhus feel happy, they spread the word among other Sadhus and their visit to Godavari would be a regular pilgrimage.

Endowments minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy said Naga Sadhus had already met him and R& B minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, who is from Khammam district discussed about their participation.  He said Sadhus would partake in Pushkaralu and perform special pujas.

Few words about Naga Sadhus: Incidentally, the Naga Sadhus are Shaivite saints and reside in Himalayas. Except on the occasions like Kumbha Mela, they seldom visit world outside. Godavari Pushkaralu is going to be their second occasion to present themselves to people of India. Holding trishul (trident), the Sadhus smear their bodies with  vibhudhi (ash) and sport thick coils of matted hair like Lord Shiva. Even in Himalayan winter, they live naked.

It is not yet known yet what rituals they are going to perform at Bhadrachalam ghat. Their activities are set to become special attraction of T-Godavari Pushkaralu
